I think just about anyone other than Trump would have seen the writing on the wall and conceded today.

I don't think the fact Trump contesting the results is bad, just the manner in which he is comporting himself. It's clearly a very close election but, then again, he won by an extremely close margin in 2016, too.

It's been reported that it's a forced letter of resignation, because Trump is going to fire him and lot of other people.

I think most people are mad at 538 because the polls were so far off again but that isn't entirely their fault. There's something fundamentally wrong with polling in this country and they failed to correct for it in the aggregate again.

The polling and their aggregate were off by around 8 points in Florida. That's way outside of polling error. They even wrote a post before the election talking about why it could be wrong which turned out to be true. That means they knew there was a problem and they failed to adequately account for uncertainty they knew existed.

At this point, I'm starting to think people are trolling the pollsters for the sport of it. In '16 people were legit ashamed/embarrassed to admit their support for Trump. This go round, I think they see polling as an arm of the media and they enjoy lying about it because they see it as sticking it to the media. They may have to change their methodology up.
