Everything I've seen and heard says that the split second Donald Trump is no longer president there will be flood of charges waiting for him

And if he resigns and Pence pardons him there are a ton of state charges as an understudy waiting in the wings if the fed charges can't perform

What do you think the likelihood of there being a jail sentence?

    In every movie and TV show I've ever seen, in every political thriller I've ever read about a criminal and corrupt president there is ALWAYS some version of;

"We can't do that to the country",

"A trial would tear the country apart",

"For the nation to heal we need to move on" etc.

    Would life imitate art?

Even with the charges, even with the proof the charges are true will the powers that be decide, "we can't do that to the country"?

So according to Brian Entin of News Nation, nothing of value was found in Trumps safe according to his source. I'm in the belief this was more of a fishing expedition than the FBI going in because there was some grandiose treasure trove of stuff that needed to be extracted. All presidents take stuff when they leave the white house for the purposes of their presidential library. From what I understand, these boxes the feds took have been communicated back and forth about in the past. Essentially, it was in dispute and the feds went to extract them but they were absolutely hoping to find some kinda Jan 6. smoking gun. This is a common tactic the FBI uses, have a lukewarm reason to conduct a search, execute it hoping to find something bigger in the process.

Just because they obtained a search warrant to go into his place in Florida doesn't mean they have evidence of a crime.

I would pipedown the excitement because this was so high risk, high reward to the point if it backfires, this will cause catastrophic damage to everyone involved in the DoJ. If there is no earth shattering findings from this search/raid that leads to something bigger, both the Attorney General and FBI director are toast if the Republicans gain back control after the midterms. You would now have basically a super saiyan Trump with infinite fuel of his "They're out to get me" narrative and a super charged base and it may also convince a sector of independents to believe the witch hunt narrative.
I think you’ve been mislead. I think they did have to have evidence that a crime had been committed, and we also have that - they’ve already retrieved highly classified papers from MAL months ago. They were so highly classified that the Archive wasn’t even allowed to describe them in the manifest of what was recovered. So, not every President takes this type of document, in fact I don’t think any President has ever taken “Top Secret” documents in the past.

And the proper procedure from what I understand is that outgoing presidents turn everything over to the Archives. At some point in the future they can ask the Archives for certain items back that are of a personal nature for their libraries and such. But they are not supposed to just take them before they are archived.

Knowing the type of measured person Garland is, I highly doubt he would sign off on a “fishing expedition” and evidently they had an informant tip them off.

No judge would sign off on a search warrant without at least some substantial and immediate need. We don’t know what it is yet is all. I’m willing to wait and see.

Honest;y, if they did find 100% evidence of a crime. do you really think ANY of his folowers would believe it? It could be a "smokin gun" and it would be lies and conspiracy that it was a set up. Am i wrong?

Well, since Fox News had Linsey graham (a member of the judicial committee) on, and as the host implied heavily that the FBI would plant evidence on Trump, graham nodded and said “yeah.”

I hope the FBI and/or Garland doesn’t come out and make any statements justifying their warrant. That’s sort of what Comey did by talking about the Clinton investigation and it was wrong.

Trump has the warrant and he has a list of everything they took. He can release all of it, but of course he won’t do that because he’s basically a dishonest person.

Regular Republicans, though, who are dishonestly calling for the FBI or DOJ to justify their lawful actions are even worse than Trump. They know what it takes to get a warrant, they know Trump took classified documents about 18 months ago, and only reluctantly turned over some of the documents a few months ago. And was still dragging his feet on turning over the rest.

Worst of all are the hard right media and personalities. They are fomenting violence over a lawful execution of a legal search warrant. Oh, and Trump’s so-called lawyers who are on said media saying that the FBI probably planted evidence with nothing to back that up.
I take it back. Trump and his gaslighting necessitate a response. I'm sure Trump and his mob never expected a statement from AG Garland.

    Now it's:

We may see the warrant after all.

    Hmmmmm .....

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before. I work with a retired military officer he told me no. All former POTUS have secret
service protection for life. If he is is convicted it would be house arrest.

and the court has stated that Trump has until 3:00 tomorrow to object to the unsealing of the warrant and return.

I’m okay with that. No golf, no internet, no cable news. Just books and meditation. Lol.

Although I’m sure they could put him in a minimum security and have agents with him in shifts. Don’t know why they couldn’t be with him there?
