I have a feeling anyone would have done this differently than this administration. Our allies responses show this was a mistake and not planned at all really. Now we have dead US Marines and a Corpsman.

He's not my guy. I think he's borderline senile. I still do prefer him to what the alternative was though.

Well, I'll be the dissenter here then.

For a guy that prides himself on his empathy, that was a bad look. Don't check your watch at a funeral or any type of memorial and certainly don't do it when it's "your guys".

I'm not saying it's some major scandal, but it is insulting to the families and the fallen and for Biden particularly a pretty surprising gaffe.

I didn't watch the whole video to see if you can see everything as it happens to verify or not, but seem like Biden wasn't in the frame the entire time to be able to know for sure, but here's what one of the fathers said:

"That didn't happen just once. It happened on every single one that came out of that airplane. It happened on every single one of them. They would release the salute, and he would look down at his watch on every last one, all 13, he looked down at his watch," Hoover said.

It seems I remember reading that Biden sometimes wears a piece of Beau’s rosary around his wrist. Maybe he was glancing at it, if he did it consistently after each body was moved? If this one man can be believed anyway, I don’t think anyone else has said it happened more than once.

Biden had both sons in the military, his is basically a military family. He’s a seasoned politician, used to being at various ceremonies. This isn’t his first time to be at a dignified transfer. It just doesn’t make sense to me that he would be callous about checking his watch.

The USA Today Fact Check appears to be based upon that same video from the Yahoo article, which appeared not at all definitive to me as you can't really see Biden at the point that he releases the salute (which is the point at which the father says he was checking his watch each time).
