Biden stepping down - now what? (2 Viewers)

Okay that's confusing because only Biden got votes.

Look I understand that as a Democrat voters you are put in this horrible situation, but the blame falls on the Biden administration and the media for covering up his condition for 3.5 year.

As a voter this is your best option especially considering the money Biden has that will go to Harris and if I were in your shoes I would probably be supporting it as well because there aren't any great options.

Having said that it's still important to show your Democrat leaders are full of shirt when they talk about protecting democracy. It's a campaign slogan. You don't fix 3 straight primaries and possibly this process too if you are protecting democracy.
Sigh. Where did you get your medical degree? You don’t care about mental fitness as evidenced by your support of a guy who thinks Hannibal Lector was a real person.

As for protecting democracy? Go drink a big glass of Please stop!. Your false god undermined democracy and continues to do so. Mike “Moses” Johnson was involved in the attempt to overthrow democracy. Josh Hawley was too. How many Republicans gave tours to people right before the insurrection?

The individual parties get the right to decide what happens when it comes to picking their candidate. What would happen if a Democratic candidate was diagnosed with terminal cancer and had just a few weeks to live?

It is none of your business nor is it the business of the anti-democracy, anti-American Republican Party.

Your really sound silly trying to convince us all to upset as if we've been fooled or something. Nobody is listening to you right wingers and your opinions on the matter. We can't stress this enough (and I am definitely speaking for everybody, here), we don't care what you think or believe or think about this. You sound so desperate, lol.
    Sounds good. Later.

Back to the veepstakes lottery. As I said yesterday I got dibs on Manchin's name.

It's not that I'm canvassing for him, I don't have strong feelings or an opinion involved. I'm saying, the tea leaves are saying,,, and I don't even drink tea.

    Today I found an interview.

Something about that. I picked Manchin for my veepstakes entry as a joke, what I said earlier was tong in cheek. Now I don't know.

He might actually get picked to be VP. He pointed to a real problem in that interview. To Harris it seemed he practically screamed, "pick me, pick me! I can solve this problem for you."

No. Manchin isn't going to motivate anybody to vote for Harris. If anything, he would split Democratic support, and for once in this race Democrats are increasingly united. No need for him in this race, Harris has plenty of other great options.

I feel like everyone was told to fall in line and things would get sorted out later. The party can’t waste another minute trying to sort this out, and with that in mind, they needed everyone to play good soldier for the sake of the party.
I don't know that they needed to tell anyone anything, but absolutely, anyone paying attention should know they that they can't waste another minute, and with the campaign funding issue and other potential pitfalls, for better or for worse Harris is the only rational pivot.
I imagine a lot of hopeful contenders are having to swallow their pride in order for Kamala to move ahead unopposed. A lot of folks probably think that they are the silver bullet that would defeat a Trump candidacy. So they were probably promised something to carry the party’s water.
I agree that there are gonna be some people who feel (and in some cases probably rightfully so) they could have made a better candidate had there been an open primary, but I don't know that anyone really wants to jump on this grenade. If you run for president and lose you usually don't get another shot, so anyone with serious ambitions probably doesn't want to blow their shot with a 90 day campaign (Harris will inherit the Biden campaign infrastructure, anyone else would be starting from scratch).

She supported Biden and is asserting that the same forces that conspired to oust him would try to do the same to Harris. She’s not being a hypocrite and she’s not accusing the party at large of hypocrisy, she was giving a warning about efforts she doesn’t agree with.
And they keep posting a video from almost a week ago.

"See, see. Even AOC... wait. What do you mean they're donating to Harris now? So what? Post the old video anyway."

That AOC video was from Thursday night, not a week ago.

I wonder what she was promised in order to fall in line.
Probably something similar to Ted Cruz and Nikki Haley when they endorsed Trump after the personal attacks below the belt. Politics are all about deals, so get off your soap box and go support your convicted felon candidate.

“Nancy made clear that they could do this the easy way or the hard way,” said one Democrat familiar with private conversations who was granted anonymity to speak candidly. “She gave them three weeks of the easy way. It was about to be the hard way.”

“He got the message,” said the House Democrat, granted anonymity to speak frankly. Referring to the Senate Majority Leader, House Minority Leader and Speaker Emeritus, the lawmaker said: “It was from Chuck, Hakeem, Pelosi.”

The top 3 Dems hold many of the purse stings and Harris holds the Biden/Harris funds. AOC might seem like a progressive wild card, but she knows 1 - Biden was the most electable progressive President, 2 - Harris will continue that progressive path, and 3 - a contested DNC is a guaranteed loss.

Politics do make strange bed fellows. I can only imagine what these people are offered to sell their souls (and their constituents).

I’ll vote for Trump when you make a donation to the Heritage Foundation.

I’m genuinely confused by what people think she’s saying.

She’s warning about what she’s hearing some people want, and that’s to remove the whole ticket. She’s not saying she supports that. She supported Biden. She’s been one of the first to support Harris. She’s been a voice for unity and focusing on beating Trump.

She said that people at the top of the party were not good with Harris at the top of the ticket, and that not everyone would get behind it.

    She wasn’t wrong.

Were you talking about a different AOC video?
No, your comprehension. The video (whether a week ago or Thursday) says nothing about AOC being against Harris. The video was about how "the elites" didn't just want Harris and wanted this "open primary," something that was already known. And yet, what happened Sunday? Donors started falling in line. If you can't understand that, well you need someone else to explain it cuz I can't help you.

its a feeble attempt at "divide and conquer" technique.

Right now, they are in the " toss everything at the wall to see what sticks" phase.

They are still waiting to find that 1 or 2 talking points that they can use to their advantage. lol.

Why did AOC put out that video other than to tell people that things are happening behind the curtain that she is wanted to call out? She wasn’t saying that she was against Harris, but she certainly wasn’t giving her ringing endorsement, nor was she trying to unify the party.
