I mean they apparently had measures to keep guns out and sneaky went undetected. It was an outdoor event but i have read that they had metal detectors going in. Hence a gun free zone. Many people pointed him out as suspicious but couldn’t do anything because he had a gun and they didn’t.

Well considering ole boy was able to just waltz through with an assault rifle.. who knows? I don’t know how the people felt there so i can’t answer that.

Seems like it was a gun free event. What would have happened if guns were allowed there? Too many variables

Rather than try shooting Trump from 100+ yards away with a rifle, the gunman could've walked right next to Trump and shot him point blank with a handgun. Then a lot of untrained asshats would've pulled guns and start firing indiscriminately.

But that’s not’s what happened. What happened was someone got past metal detectors or other methods that was created for a gun free zone. He was called out multiple times by people without guns. I know you have seen the videos.

Anyone correct me here if I am wrong. But what I read yesterday is he took his shot from outside the metal detector/gun free perimeter. He never brought the gun through the metal detector.

It doesn't really change the fact that this was totally preventable, but he was able to shoot from the open carry area outside the gun free center.

Not sure how security was laid out but he perched up on the roof in front of many people who threw up the WTF flag. It’s on video. He could have been taken out by a civilian is all

Or he could have been taken out by any trained sniper with eyes on him, or they could have not let Trump go on stage since they knew of a threat, or they could have confronted him when he was being suspicious, or any number of other solutions that don't involve "one and all bring your guns!" Civilians being armed was not necessary here and likely would not have helped.
