Assassination attempt on Trump (1 Viewer)

They don't always use stitches these days. Sometimes glue is better than stitches. That said, with the ear, that would be a tricky fix.
Yeah, Eric said it was a flesh wound that didn’t need stitches and Dr. Feel-Good says half his ear was blown off. 🤦‍♀️

I’m still impressed news hasn’t come out about anyone in the USSS being fired for this. I’m assuming that will happen soonish, right?

I would imagine so - the directly certainly isn't going to last very long and if there were clearly identifiable failures that can be attributed to specific individuals in leadership, they'll probably be gone too. I'm sure there probably are, just don't know what they are.

Maybe wait until after the investigation? Just a thought.
That investigation better be soon and quick, because as we get closer to Election Day, I’m not sure anyone’s faith in the USSS could be lower.

It's looking more, and more likely his motivations were apolitical.

F.B.I. officials, speaking on the calls, suggested that his search history indicated he was broadly interested in powerful and famous people, without any obvious ideological or partisan pattern.

Among the other prominent figures the gunman searched for using one of his phones, besides Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden: the F.B.I. director, Christopher A. Wray; Attorney General Merrick B. Garland; and a member of the British royal family, according to two officials with knowledge of the situation, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss the matter publicly.

Yeah, just wanted to make the news while he committed suicide by cop. Such a horrible impulse to take others with you.

Assuming this is accurate, that doesn't look good at all. My biggest issue with the time line is how in the hell do they let Trump go out there if the guy was spotted on the roof by the USSS 10 minutes before he got on stage?

At a minimum, they needed to send someone an LEO or agent to get him off of the roof. Before letting Trump get on the stage. 10 minutes...that's absurd.

That said, we still don't know what the communications looked like, who said what when and what the standard protocol was for a suspicious person on a roof in the line of sight.

Hopefully where the breakdown happened needs to be clearly understood and measures taken so something like this doesn't happen again. That could have been Biden or any other political leader up there. This kind of lapse can't happen.

I'm eager to learn how the decision to go forward with the rally was made and who made the call.

I read that Trump was over an hour late before he even took the stage. I too am interested in the dynamic between Trump and his Secret Service detail. The behavior on stage of the detail seemed to pretty severely break protocol in that they didn’t rush him off immediately and propped him up thus exposing his head. As someone who is familiar with protocol on Twitter said - you don’t wait one second, you fireman carry him off the stage and nobody gets a look at him.

She had better get the dust off that resume, and update her LinkedIn profile.
Why is there sooooooooo much hate for the Director, a person that has served for over 25 years with USSS? How about we wait to find out if the failures was an isolated failure within trump's protective detail and not a systemic issue that plagues the entire USSS.

We didn't fire the SS director after Reagan.

They should bide their time talking about how open carry was one of the primary drivers of the assination attempt.

Whaaa? They had multiple people scream that the shooter had a gun. Many of them probably wish they could go back and have a gun to take out the guy themselves. Crazy how gun free zones work huh
