I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

I see she's using the Roseanne defense of "My medication made me racist!"

And this woman is a judge
    ====================================================

Early Saturday morning, police in Lafayette, La., arrested a 59-year-old man in connection with an attempted car burglary outside of City Court Judge Michelle Odinet’s home.

Odinet’s home security camera caught the aftermath: Two young men wrestled the stranger to the ground. The video could help prosecutors build their case against the accused burglar, but another video related to the incident has led to calls for Odinet’s resignation.

On Monday, local nonprofit news outlet the Current posted a clip of people watching the surveillance footage inside Odinet’s home. A man in the video says his mother yelled the n-word multiple times at the alleged burglar, who is Black.

Then, a woman watching the security footage chimed in, “We have a n-----," she says, repeating the slur before adding “like a roach.”

The video sparked national outrage, causing community leaders and racial justice organizations to call for the judge to leave her position and local defense attorneys to question her impartiality toward Black defendants.

Odinet is taking an unpaid leave of absence, her attorney, Dane Ciolino, confirmed to The Washington Post. He did not indicate if and when she will return to the court.

“She is embarrassed, humiliated, and sorry for what she has done and the trouble that she caused the community,” Ciolino said in a statement Wednesday night.........

After the video of the Odinet family watching the surveillance footage emerged, the judge made a statement apologizing, adding that she had “zero recollection of the video” with the racist language. Odinet added that she was “a wreck” and in a “fragile” mental state after the incident.

“I was given a sedative at the time of the video,” she said. “ … Anyone who knows me and my husband, knows this is contrary to the way we live our lives. I am deeply sorry and ask for your forgiveness and understanding as my family and I deal with the emotional aftermath of this armed burglary.”...........

    Re: WW2

I am always intrigued by the “We Defeated The Nazis!” bullschlitz. FDR counted on the Soviets to do the bleeding and bleed they did. Iirc, the Soviets lost more dead in one week than the U.S. did in the entire Pacific Theatre.
True, but don't forget a lot of those men, especially at the beginning of the war charged without rifles and with their officers behind them with guns to their back to make sure they 'bled'. Very heroic.

So this lady had her car, at her home broken into, her sons or husband(?) wrestle the criminal to the ground at her home and she called the criminal a bad word?
Oh my, do you think he will recover, poor criminal!
Seriously, yall pick the worst martyrs.

This must be the more the of the systematic racism that is holding the criminal class down.

Nobody is making a martyr of the guy. People are saying that perhaps the racist judge should be looked into to make sure she didn't let her racism influence her decisions from the bench. After all, justice is supposed to be blind, right?

As CM said, nobody is defending the burgler, throw the book at him. But, her behavior is a problem, even though you evidently don’t think so. First off, she initially blamed her teenaged son, implying he has a substance abuse problem, which is just really awful human behavior. Then she says it’s actually her that has the substance abuse problem, which evidently made her shout the N word multiple times at the screen and imply that “N words” are just like roaches.

Maybe this doesn’t seem racist to you. But to almost everyone else, this seems pretty . . . Racist.

How do you expect a black lawyer in her court to feel about this? A black defendant? A black juror?

The knowing use of racial slurs is a big sign.
Right after a attempted home robbery when her family was in physical contact with the criminal? Bad judgment and a potty mouth but to just dismiss her out of hand as a racist?

What makes you defend her as “not” a racist?
I don't know her if she is a racist. You have stated she is a racist. So, I ask you, how do you know she is a racist? Either you know or you assume. Which one is it?

So racism is excusable when stressed and agitated? Or is using racist language the same as saying "fork that butt crevasse trying to steal our damn car"?

In my experience, that word doesn’t come out of the mouth of a person who isn’t a racist. Under any circumstances. She wasn’t in danger when she went off. And it wasn’t a one-time slip, she used the word multiple times and compared black people to roaches.

To paraphrase something I just read today - you pick really strange people to defend.

I was told intent matters. Does intent not matter?

So by that definition just about every single black person is racist, especially those in media and pop culture. Unless you meant to add the adjective white to the sentence and I think you did.

Going with the "Why can they say it, but I can't?!" defense I see

What do you think was her intent in using that word, after the fact and when there was no danger? And do you think it could be different than the intent of a black person who chooses to use the N word? Since you are saying intent matters.

The video is at his link. One has to click on a video warning of racist language to see it, the warning reads:

WARNING: This video contains racist language.

The Current is publishing the footage without censoring it so readers can draw their own conclusions about the identities and attitudes of the speakers recorded. Censored and edited portions of the transcript follow.

Assuming that "mom refers to the judge, she is a race bigot alright. There's no way to get around that. She's been on the bench for a year. Before that she was with the prosecutors office for Orleans and Lafayette Parish districts.

So there will be people trying to appeal sentences they got from her as a judge, and who's cases were handled by her in the district attorney's office before she was a judge.
