I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

    Condoleeza Rice is 100% correct.

Imagine what is like to grow up black in America and all you hear 24/7 is that "you are goin nowhere because of racism". Imagine the media preaching doom 24/7. This creates hopelessness, depression, anger, anxiety, PTSD, nihilism, etc.

Condoleeza grew up under adverse conditions but her parents always told her she was not a victim and that she would overcome whatever obstacle was there. She never saw herself as a victim.

You guys love it when a half white person tells black people to stop feeling sorry for themselves.

It's also just the sheer inanity of thinking the problem is rhetoric.

Like if people subject to racism, prejudice, and discrimination just weren't told about it and nobody talked about it, they'd stop noticing the actual racism, prejudice, and discrimination they, their family, and friends, personally experience and it'd just stop having any effect on them.

Her DNA status is not relevant.
Somewhere down the line her family made the wise choice of injecting some white DNA, or maybe they got raped by a white man, either way, her family is a shining example of the Paul method to assimilation.

Not to mention it is just effectively blaming the victims of racism for the actual racism. They just need to be stronger!

I lost any respect I had for Rice when I saw that. She also made the point that we should all just forget about Jan. 6, which is exactly wrong. She’s just parroting the new R talking points, Mitch McConnell made the same speech.

The absolute worst thing to do would be to forget about Jan. 6 and not hold the people who planned it responsible. The fact that it will include the former President and several current R members of Congress makes it all the more important that this not be swept under the rug. Imagine if there were no R’s willing to hold Nixon responsible for his criminal acts? That’s what we have right now, aside from Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. Even Mitt Romney has put his head down.

She is right. Embracing victimhood is never a good idea. As minority in America I would feel like "shyte" if I was treated like a disempowered victim.

you are right, but we wouldn't have CRT if true history was taught, but it is not and this is what you end up with..

He’s not right about CRT, although I do agree with your point that the reason we are here is because we as a nation never dealt with slavery, like at all.

We didn’t punish the people who started the Civil War, we looked the other way when people treated newly freed slaves as if they were never emancipated and put up statues to the traitors who fought against the US. We allowed “separate but equal” which was definitely separate but never, ever equal. We allowed “sundown” towns, we allowed massacres like Oklahoma City, we allowed lynchings. We allowed every type of atrocity to happen to people who were once enslaved. Redlining, although illegal, is still alive and well, because we look the other way. I read an article over a year ago that showed how black farmers are being targeted by unethical businessmen with the help of unethical real estate agents and banks. They are being stripped of their land. It may just skirt the law, being technically legal, but unethical as hell.

If you actually read CRT, nothing it says disempowers black people. Not a damn thing. The fight against CRT is just another red herring to keep us from dealing with racism. The people who want so desperately to censor CRT are afraid of having to live in a society where black people have the same opportunities as everyone else. I just don’t know what other motivation there could possibly be.

Yes, strength when facing adversity is desirable. Embracing victimhood is not.

She severely condemned Jan 6. You saw the wring show. The point of the discussion is that there are major problems in America that need attention such as inflation, poor education, tribal division, inequities, etc that need much more attention.

When in Rome do as the Romans. IT works every time.

How dare you accused a brilliant successful black woman of acting white!

She said it was time to just move on from Jan. 6. On this same show that we are discussing. It’s flat wrong of her to suggest that. It’s completely disingenuous to suggest that if we have a select committee working on Jan. 6 that the entirety of government will grind to a halt. Complete bull shirt, and I lost all respect for her for saying that.

Yea, it's not like the government has been steaming along getting things done for the past 10 years.

We need to take out the garbage before anything will get done anyway.

I am not surprised you dislike Rice. That is why I worry about tribalism.

I never really had a negative opinion of her before now, Paul, but thanks for trying to point out something that isn’t there. In fact, had you asked me day before yesterday, my opinion would have been slightly positive. But she has expressed two opinions that I think are completely wrong-headed and in fact will hurt this country, so I have changed my opinion.

You seem to be looking for and finding what you want to see even if it’s not there.

Rice and Powell represent the very best of America. I realize they are not on the left, but they are very close to the center and that is fine by me.

Jan 6 was an aberration. A banana republic type event and very disgraceful. From my perspective it was the redneck version of looting. I don't think there is much more in there. I am not worried about mentally mentally challenged people going in there to take selfies. The concern should be directed at the abysmal security surrounding one of the most important buildings in the world. When I was in Rome all important buildings were guarded with the army with machine guns in hand.

You may not have seen it, but there is credible evidence being compiled that people close to the ex-President, if not Trump himself, had set up that rally as a second option if Pence wouldn’t follow the memo that Eastman prepared. Steve Bannon said the day before, Jan. 5, that if you ever wanted to be part of a revolution, then tomorrow is your chance. He said it would be fast moving, and not what people think it would be. (some people obviously thought it was just another rally.)

They wanted to delay the counting of the electoral votes just long enough so they could strong arm a few states with R legislatures into revoking the Biden electors and replacing them with Trump electors. The following controversy would give them coverage to throw the election to the House.

It was an actual coup plot, even though it failed. It cannot be ignored or whitewashed as you just did, IMO.

I am not a believer in elaborate conspiracy theories (left or right) that require the cooperation of thousands. At the same time I do not disagree that those yahoos wanted to alter the election result.

America is not a banana republic and I was never worried. The military of this nation would never go along with that. Can a few mad deranged Trumpers think that way? I guess so, but they are not going to go very far.

You act like you think Jan 6 was a one-off.

Those guys didn't go home with their lesson learned never to be heard from again. In fact, i believe that there are more people who support the Jan 6 attack today than there was on Jan 6.

This isn't a problem that goes away by being swept under the rug.
