I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

I am not a believer in elaborate conspiracy theories (left or right) that require the cooperation of thousands. At the same time I do not disagree that those yahoos wanted to alter the election result.

America is not a banana republic and I was never worried. The military of this nation would never go along with that. Can a few mad deranged Trumpers think that way? I guess so, but they are not going to go very far.

So people attempting to violently change the results of a free and fair election is the equivalent of looting?

You are not grasping what was being proposed. The lie told about election fraud would have provided the veneer of respectability so that actual Constitutional powers could be mis-used to overturn the will of the people. It’s still a coup, and the people there were willing dupes, not co-conspirators.

It’s not an elaborate conspiracy theory involving thousands, good grief. We have a document laying out what they would do. It was written by a Claremont lawyer. People aligned with Trump, both within and outside of the government were on board with this strong arm tactic to overthrow the election.

And so far, nothing has happened to these traitors. That needs to change, or we are lost as a representative democracy.

CM, I use a lot of figures of speech. It is obviously not the same. However, the madness of crowds doing stupid things is universal.

What irks me is the racism of the Metro and Capitol police that assume white people would not be violent and hence had virtually no security. On a previous BLM protest in Washington all monuments were guarded by a large contingency of armed to the teeth cops.

Yes. they assumed white protesters would not be violent. A virulent form of white privilege.

You act like you think Jan 6 was a one-off.

Those guys didn't go home with their lesson learned never to be heard from again. In fact, i believe that there are more people who support the Jan 6 attack today than there was on Jan 6.

This isn't a problem that goes away by being swept under the rug.
NAZIs, KKKs, and Jan 6 types is not the biggest problem in America, but it is a nice target for the left.

Are Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger from the left?
    Sam

I am not following that issue. From my perspective is boring! As someone that is on the middle I have no passion for that.

I do acknowledge that the attack of the capitol by a bunch of poorly educated rednecks was a disgrace and made America look like a banana republic. It will never happen again.

Do you know what I didn't see in all of this? An answer.

Jan 6 was an aberration. A banana republic type event and very disgraceful. From my perspective it was the redneck version of looting. I don't think there is much more in there.

I do not disagree that those yahoos wanted to alter the election result.

So which one is it, Paul? Is it just the same as looting and not much more to it or is it a group of people who attempted to use violence to prevent the certification of a free and fair election?

You are aware, as MT has pointed out, that they were just the blunt instrument that educated lawyers and politicians were using to hammer at the problem in order to achieve the goal of overturning the election, yes?

So you don't really know much about what happened, but you've decided it isn't a serious issue.

The people behind Jan 6 are smart and/or manipulative. Does that change anything in your estimation?
I have not followed the issue in great detail. So you could very well be correct in your estimation and that is OK with me. I just don't think that this guy is smart enough to come up with a plot to take over the US government. I could be wrong!

Yea, you probably don’t know enough to be expressing an opinion if you believe that any of those people are who we are talking about.

Since you admit to not knowing any details- and, in fact, pointedly ignored them when provided- perhaps you keep your ignorant opinions to yourself.

Your vituperative posting style is noted.

As is your extreme hyperbole. You admitted to not following the situation ("I have not followed the issue in great detail") and ignored the posts where multiple people tried to inform you of key information missing from your opinion. Your opinion is, by definition, ignorant. There is nothing abusive about pointing out someone's lack of knowledge, especially when they admit to it while still relying on their admittedly incomplete understanding to offer opinions.

When new information is presented, it should be taken into account and one's opinion should change to incorporate it. You fail to do that on a regular basis.

I do not disagree CM. I wish I share your seriousness regarding this issue.
