I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

It sounds like he's just going back to his "roots," that's natural. That's what his old dad would have done too. It's what his son will do.

Nuts don't fall far from their parent tree. They're too hard on the surface, and dense, to but fall straight down to the ground, and then not bounce.

Here's a photo of their actual tree. As you can see a nut fall out of that tree it would fall straight down under it, and then not bounce out from under it:

A critter would have to come along and eat a nut, and then the nut would have to pass through the critter, all the way through and out the other end without having been digested, to not wind up under that tree. Complicated it is, pretty whiffy and iffy.

    'protection' replaced 'immunity'.
The definition of vaccine still uses the word immunity, despite what the talk radio tells you. The definition has not changed.

    offically I see:

"a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease."

"a suspension of attenuated or killed microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, or rickettsiae), administered for prevention, amelioration, or treatment of infectious diseases."

"any preparation used as a preventive inoculation to confer immunity against a specific disease, usually employing an innocuous form of the disease agent, as killed or weakened bacteria or viruses, to stimulate antibody production."

    From various sources.

    Where did you get "protection?"
What makes you think it's changed?

Immunity is a type of protection.

I don't understand how you think even if those words are used interchangeably (and I haven't yet seen that) that it changes what the word means. Immunity is just more descriptive of the type of protection you get from a vaccine.

Just like wearing a mask and washing your hands is protection against disease, creating an immune response via a vaccination is protection from the disease.

Then why do change the definition if it means the exact same thing and has for decades?

and even if some place somewhere else beside dictionary.com and Webster and the American Medical association (the 3 definitions I posted above) and they used "protection" IT DOESNT CHANGE WHAT IT MEANS.

It was changed. Pretty easy to check. You might want to do that.

If 'IT DOESN'T CHANGE WHAT IT MEANS' then why change the definition? Was it be more inclusive to the word 'protection' because 'immunity' was being used too much?

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California would allow children age 12 and up to be vaccinated without their parents’ consent under a proposal introduced Friday by a state senator who said youngsters “deserve the right to protect themselves” against infectious disease.

Currently in California, minors ages 12 to 17 cannot be vaccinated without permission from their parents or guardians, unless the vaccine is specifically to prevent a sexually transmitted disease. Parental consent laws for vaccinations vary by state and region and a few places such as Philadelphia, San Francisco allow minors to consent to their own COVID-19 vaccines.

I guess Cali is really buying into the socialist narrative of 'they are not your kids, they are the states'.
    Chilling.

Farb, my state couldn't move fast enough to make me vaccinate my kids. I would have my kids at the vaccination place and already have had that shot in their arm long before the state could get around to twisting my arm to make me do it.

The Covid vaccines are specifically formulated to prevent Covid and none other. Covid is most certainly is a disease that can easily be sexually transmitted.

If one person with Covid has sex with an uninfected person, or persons, It would be an almost sure thing that by the time all that sexual with all that hugging, kissing, and other fluid transfer parts was over, that the uninfected person, or persons, would be infected as well.

Remember how in the beginning Covid took Italy by storm, it was like they couldn't do a thing about it. Italian folks are notorious for running up to each other and giving each other moist hugs and kisses at every meeting. There you go, all the proof you need.

Still don't see the justification of the state moving to inject something in a child without parental consent.
It actually seems they are passing this out of spite. Almost to show those that don't want a perfectly healthy kid to a experimental drug (it is unless you can provide with me with long term data on the effect) will comply either by force if necessary.

Massive overreach. I am curious is crazy state will pass it

huh, imagine that. A Trump appointed judge doing this

U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Brown said the question was whether Biden could "require millions of federal employees to undergo a medical procedure as a condition of their employment. That, under the current state of the law as just recently expressed by the Supreme Court, is a bridge too far."

Brown, based in Galveston and appointed by then-President Donald Trump, said the government could protect public health with less invasive measures, such as masking and social distancing.

I’m still waiting for any sort of proof that a definition was changed. You know, a screen shot before and after, from the same dictionary?

Also, there’s this: (as noted before, anyone who has had Covid but isn’t vaccinated would be counted as unvaccinated, because words have meanings.)

Also, dictionaries and/or agencies do adjust their wordings all the time. It’s called clarification. Farb must think that once a word is ever listed in the dictionary, nobody is allowed to reword or clarify the meaning of the word ever again. 🙄
