I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

So punish the Chinese people if their government leaked a biological weapon that killed thousands of their own?

And let me clarify, we don't know if this was negligence or happenstance yet. Maybe a combination.
You are right, we don't know. And I don't think it was intentional. But if it was then yes, the people living in China will have to pay price. That is generally what happens when you live under an evil government.
I know that American civilians are being punished because of what China did, why should that be different?

I am speaking of Congress as a whole, party irrelevant.

Let the blame fall wherever it needs to. SFL has done a good job shedding light on what's taking place though and right now some of the provisions that the Democrats are trying to force through undeniably are not necessarily to meet this crisis.

It's both poetic justice and karma that Paul finds himself infected. Maybe he'll pull through or maybe not. Time will tell. If he doesn't then karma will have run its full course.
WTF? Seriously? Using Karma in a sentence doesn't relieve you from looking like a complete Peice of work.

I didn't type work. I typed the other word for poop. To be extra clear.

I found it kind of ironic that he was calling for karma to do its thing. I hope for his sake karma has self quarantined.

I was going to comment on the post you made to show your outrage when your dear leader reacted to Romney being quarantined but I couldn't find it. Your outrage tickles. I am amused.

This forking shirt stick is literally on TV still downplaying this and all but confirming he is leaning toward risking and undoubtedly killing Americans in order to make sure his economic numbers dont keep falling. Talking less about lives and more about how his beautiful numbers are being affected And why that is so important.

And half you people are going to vote for him and try and once again rationalize how the Democrat would be worse.

Well, the Democratic leadership isn't looking too good right now is it?

    More death from not
Well, the Democratic leadership isn't looking too good right now is it?

Like I said, “what about the Dems!” I’m convinced some of you will use it to rationalize everything up until the moment we truly pass the threshold into an illiberal failed state.

Though if you want to get into the economics of what constitutes an actual quality bailout package in a severe demand and supply side recession brought on by a major economic shock by way of a pandemic, relative to the two sides proposals and stated executive leadership, I’m down!....Of course I’m guessing some snide remark indicating you aren’t actually here for meaningful discussion again. Thinking if you possibly triggered the lib your work is done?

But you will have a hard time defending no-strings attached corporate handouts and woefully inadequate safeguards for individuals....Something you all feigned to care about in 08 before Trump rode in and killed the so-called Tea Party that supposedly really cared about no-strings corporate handouts that were simply used for stock buybacks and padding upper level staff at the expense of table scraps for the rest....Meanwhile the Senate could pass the House bill tonight.

but I am guessing your argument probably rests on something that amounts to the Democrats are at fault because they didn’t simply capitulate to the corrupt practices of their opponents, which falls in line with the fascistic mindset many have embraced as some virtue to counter oppositional forces.

There should not be a SINGLE pet project in this bill... It should be entirely about addressing COVID-19 issues and nothing else.

Yep yet I don't want the head of the Treasury department to have a 500 billion dollar open checkbook with no oversight to do as he pleased.

Bailouts this time come with rules.

    Just the way it is.

Corporate America did nothing with the windfalls of the tax breaks except buy backs. Need to make damn sure they don't do that again untill the bailout money is paid back.
