I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

This is the sort of thing that should lead to a public outcry. But the Republican voter's response will be silence except those who defend him as having made a good and ethical decision.

So, would you be surprised if a Fox News host just stated that if the Senator has some explanation for his actions, which is not apparent, he needs to come forward with it immediately - otherwise he should resign and face criminal charges? And further stated that for an elected official to betray the public in a national crisis is the most reprehensible thing imaginable?

    ha, just saw and posted

Hah. I know a lot of people don't like Tucker (and I don't want to get sidetracked on arguing over that), but I tell you it is not unusual for him to blast the GOP or take positions that are out of step from what one would think.

Just tonight he not only went after Burr, but also Lindsey Graham on another issue.

She was appointed to her Senate seat in Georgia and had served in the Senate for EIGHTEEN DAYS before she did the illegal insider trading. Her husband is also...wait for it...the chairman of the New York Stock Exchange. Ell oh freaking ell.

Burr was one of only three Senators to vote against a bill making it illegal for Senators to use insider knowledge to make stock transactions.

With the federal government's incredible leftward economic shift over the past week (we are, what, a month out from Medicare For All by executive order somehow?), these folks are toast.

Jeffrey Sprecher is her husband's name.

This is serious news. If you don't know anything about him he is
    Intercontinental Exchange, Inc.

This is the swamp and it certainly is not getting drained.

    This is huge.

The thing that's hypocritical about this outrage from the right is that Trump was doing the exact same thing publicly. It may not have involved dumping stocks and insider trading (or maybe it did, I don't think we know that yet), but it did involve lying to the American people about what was happening for political gain.

Why isn't there the same outrage from the right at Trump's actions? Is the difference in reaction only because these Senator's actions involved money?

I'm curious if the same standard still applies like it did for Russiagate according to what many said here? I'm guessing there will be some nuanced take that claims this is different.
