I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

I think it’s possible we have been targeted by some adversary state with the disinformation. I cannot fathom why the GOP champions the disinformation, though.

Oh, I think we definitely are targeted with all kinds of disinformation. It's a big business of our adversaries. That said, the easiest targets are those gullible folks who are susceptible to it, and those tend to be low information Trumpers.

We run disinformation campaigns in other countries as well, so it's not like we're innocent in all this.

Is Joe Rogan a source you trust? Lol

I have listened to a total of 2 of his podcasts, way too long for me. I listened to one with the pilot that targeted the ticktack UFO and another one with Eddie Danger, or something.
So no, he is not a source for me.

I stick to Gateway Pundit, Storm Front, Penthouse letters, David Dukes newsletter, DonaldJTrump.com and CNN.

I have tried to listen to exactly one Rogan podcast. Couldn’t make it through that one, came away totally unimpressed.

nice one, Farb, on your sources.

Rogan, himself, is not really political. As I said he's basically a modern day Art Bell that gives a platform to everyone and anyone. The problem is that when Art Bell was in his prime in terms of listeners there weren't nearly as many kooks out there willing to believe crazy stuff. That is an invention of the last 20-30 years courtesy of Rupert Murdoch, Rush Limbaugh, and the internet in general.

In the internet age insanity spreads at 25 mbps.

From what I gather, Rogan isn’t very bright and doesn’t ever challenge ridiculous and patently false ideas that are said on his podcast. In fact, some of the ridiculous and patently false stuff comes out of his own mouth. He then shrugs and says “don’t listen to me, I’m an idiot” knowing that he has a huge platform and a whole lot of people are in fact listening and believing him.

    It’s hugely irresponsible, IMO.

You just described the entire right-wing blogosphere.

Rogan is boring as hell, but he has great people as guests and he seems to be a middle of the road type. I cannot understand why he is so successful. I can see why Rogan is disliked as middle of the road often sounds conservative.

For interviewers I like Bill Maher, he is more of a true liberal with a sense of humor.

Rogan is a cool guy but the majority of his passion is directed to MMA, weight and cardio training, and elk hunting. I think he's popular because he lets anyone have their say for an hour or so versus most mainstream shows where you have maybe two minutes to get a point across. Most other podcasters tend to 'curate' their guests.

It’s probably more than one country. Here’s some news about China. Russia has already been implicated. Hint for Farb, all the Russia stories were not lies, no matter how badly you want that to be true. Lol.

Wait, for real, is Russia still a thing for you guys? I thought that went away when it was learned everything in that narrative was false?

    https://www.the-sun.com/news/3618909/why-are-people-saying-dr-anthony-fauci-lied/

Now it all makes sense why there was a huge media charge to not all this thing the china virus, those were fun days. Turns out we can call it the US NIH Virus. It is kind of catchier.

If you don't think Russia peddles in disinformation in the US, well, I got some prime beachfront property in the Atchafalaya for sale.
