Didn't really see a place for this so I thought I would start a thread about all things LGBTQ since this is a pretty hot topic in our culture right now

• The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
• Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

I will admit, I was hopeful for this decision by the SCOTUS but I was surprised by the unanimous decision.

While I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with same sex couples adopting and raising children (I actually think it is a good thing as it not an abortion) but I also did not want to see the state force a religious institution to bend to a societal norm.

Please quote where I said anything about anti-trans laws. I am not going to have an honest discussion with someone who isn't going to be honest. If you make up small things you make up all things.

I made my point abundantly clear. Your attitude, based on your quoted statements, is the kind of attitude that leads down that path. It is a path of fear and ignorance. You did not say you support anti-trans laws, but your attitude is what leads to those laws being crafted and enacted.

If you say so. I think the discussion needs to be had about not making it cool to be LGBTQ. Accept people for who they are. But promoting this lifestyle as something glamorous and forcing acceptance is not working. I see children whose parents put them in positions to satisfy the parent at the desire of the parent. Children are driven to satisfy their parents. Next thing you know a young man is suicidal because everyone said he wanted to be a she at a very young age.

Funny enough instead of any of you engaging on where my thoughts and background may be, you think I am ignorant and afraid.

Again, you either lack fundamental reading comprehension skills or you are a dishonest discussion partner. I never said you were ignorant or afraid. I said your attitude leads down a path of ignorance and fear.

I see. You are not calling me ignorant or afraid, you are saying my attitude will lead me there. Got it. How long do you think this will take? Will I start feeling anxious? Paranoid?

It wasn't an ad hominem attack or "claiming innocence." I clarified what I said because you either misunderstood or misstated my post.
