Many of Trump's endorsed candidates did not do well on Nov. 8th.

Gov. Ron DeSantis DID do well.
    He won convincingly.
Yet in this OP's opinion, Donald Trump is an egomaniac who is seemingly incapable of putting "Party over Self"
Trump has ZERO chance of being elected our next president.
In my opinion, if Trump would just shut up and go away (fat chance of that)...but "if" Trump did that, Gov. Ron DeSantis would have a CHANCE to be a formidable candidate for President in 2024.
Here is an interesting article on this topic...

What do any of you think re. Trump vs DeSantis?

I don't know that DeSantis is accused of torture, but bullying sticks with a victim a lifetime. Imagine that times a thousand and I'm not surprised victims of torture never forget their torturers' faces.

I’m starting to think DeSantis won’t run or at least is waiting until more (and more serious) charges happen and seeing if the tide turns again Trump

Oh, and how in the hell is RFK Jr. polling at 20% and not 2%??
    =========================

(CNN) - Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has spent the past few months running to the right ahead of his expected entry into the 2024 Republican presidential primary campaign. From signing into law a six-week abortion ban to fighting with Disney, the governor has focused on satisfying his party’s conservative base.

So far at least, those efforts have not paid off in Republican primary polling, with DeSantis falling further behind the current front-runner, former President Donald Trump.

Things have gotten so bad for DeSantis that a recent Fox News poll shows him at 21% – comparable with the 19% that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has pushed debunked conspiracy theories about vaccine safety, is receiving on the Democratic side.

DeSantis was at 28% in Fox’s February poll, 15 points behind Trump. The Florida governor’s support has dropped in the two Fox polls published since, and he now trails the former president by 32 points……..

CELEBRATION, Fla. — Ted Baker voted for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, strongly supporting his policies during the pandemic and leadership after Hurricane Ian plowed through the state last year.

The lifelong Republican had also hoped to see DeSantis run for president and flush former president Donald Trump off the national stage.

But as Baker lounged on a folding chair near the “Happiest Place on Earth,” the 58-year-old retiree said the governor has lost his support due to his relentless squabbling with the builder and quasi-overseer of this idyllic town, the Walt Disney Co.

“He has done a wonderful job for the state of Florida, so why he has decided to pick a fight with Disney just doesn’t make any logical sense to me,” said Baker, who bought a $300,000 condominium in Celebration eight years ago after he retired from a public utility company in Ohio.

“I now have people from Ohio calling me asking me, ‘If this is going on, is the governor screwing up other things in the state? And I will be very honest with you, as a moderate Republican, he’s lost my vote for presidency. And my wife’s too.”……

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Days after Disney sued Florida’s governor in federal court for what it described as retaliation for opposing the state’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill, Disney World’s governing board — made up of Gov. Ron DeSantis appointees — filed a lawsuit Monday against the entertainment giant.

The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District sued Disney in state court in Orlando and voted to defend itself in federal court in Tallahassee where the entertainment company filed its lawsuit last Wednesday.

The Disney lawsuit against the governor, the board and its five members asks a judge to void the governor’s takeover of the theme park district previously controlled by Disney for 55 years. The oversight board’s lawsuit seeks to maintain its oversight of design and construction in the district that governs Disney World’s 25,000 acres after the previous Disney-controlled board signed over those powers to the company before the DeSantis-appointed board members held their first meeting earlier this year.

The DeSantis board’s lawsuit was filed Monday afternoon in Orange County and claims the agreements with Disney “reek of a backroom deal.” The previous board members failed to give proper notice about the agreements, lacked the authority to make them, unlawfully delegated governmental authority to a private entity and the agreements are unenforceable under Florida, according to the suit.

“We will seek justice in our own backyard,” Martin Garcia, chair of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, said at Monday morning’s special meeting approving the lawsuit……..

NEW YORK (AP) — As president, Donald Trumpfrequently derided CNN as “fake news.” Now that he’s running again, Trump has agreed to appear on a live town hall forum from New Hampshire next week for CNN viewers.

The event, scheduled for May 10 at St. Anselm’s College in Goffstown, New Hampshire, will be televised at 9 p.m. Eastern.

Kaitlan Collins will moderate. Trump will take questions from Republicans and undeclared voters who are planning to participate in the 2024 GOP primary.

Although Trump has taken audience questions at some rallies and has been interviewed by Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson in recent weeks on Fox News, this is his first town hall-style event of the 2024 campaign…….

It'll be in front of Republicans, but he won't be able to help himself...

I have posted this to show I recognize this is not a good approach for his campaign. He has done things in 2023 that have stolen away the enthusiasm I previously had for him in 2022.
It’s always good to have an open mind and pay attention to their actions rather than what they say.

I really don’t know anything about this guy, but when he says nobody is taking on Trump effectively he is sure telling the truth.

So they are just doubling down on targeting Disney and only Disney during a lawsuit filed by Disney for violation of Constitutional rights by the FL government? Bold move, lol. Let’s see - first they targeted Disney’s special district and only Disney even though there are at least 2 other similar districts in the state. One of them benefits The Villages and I forget the other one. Then they threatened to build a state prison beside Disney. Then they threatened to take away Disney’s categorization for ride inspection, just Disney not Universal or any other park in FL. Now this:

You might recall him from his relationship with Beto O’Rourke when they were members of Congress.
