Many of Trump's endorsed candidates did not do well on Nov. 8th.

Gov. Ron DeSantis DID do well.
    He won convincingly.
Yet in this OP's opinion, Donald Trump is an egomaniac who is seemingly incapable of putting "Party over Self"
Trump has ZERO chance of being elected our next president.
In my opinion, if Trump would just shut up and go away (fat chance of that)...but "if" Trump did that, Gov. Ron DeSantis would have a CHANCE to be a formidable candidate for President in 2024.
Here is an interesting article on this topic...

What do any of you think re. Trump vs DeSantis?

DeSantis evidently still thinks this is what his constituents want him to do. He learned nothing from trying to go against Disney.

My eyes did about 7 revolutions when the words "end weaponization ..." came out of his mouth

All DeSantis does is weaponize government.

for me it was " ....the cookie crumbles..."

I bet he gives his kids $5 for their birthday in the form of a check too. in a card.

DeSantis’ anti-woke law has led the school board to revise teachings about slavery to include that slaves benefited by learning skills:

“Some of the issues raised surrounded standards that include instruction on “how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit” and lessons that touch on acts of violence perpetrated “against and by” African Americans.”

How is that relevant? Enslavement is against our right to be free. If there is some benefit, that is irrelevant. You could argue that most atrocious acts can occasionally be consistent with some benefit. For example one can argue that beaten wives get a place to live. Molested children learn about sex. Murdering a homeless person relieves their misery. Stealing motivates people to work harder to make money again. Not vaccinating culls the weak from society. It is ridiculous to even raise some nebulous associated benefit from an atrocious act to reduce its negative. This is a transparent attempt to reduce the negative view of slavery. There is no value in teaching about skills learned against one’s will.

I wonder if this school board would teach about how Cubans have benefited from Communism by learning skills the party required them to learn?

that's the kind of stuff people said would happen and the dumb-publicans said, no they wouldn't do that, you are just trying to start drama..

As was i. But until they let a 3rd party candidate in the debates, 3rd party will never have a shot. GJ was on the ballot in all 50 states, the only other candidate in 2016 to be on the ballot in all 50 states. The D's and R's will continue to make rules to block them from the debates because if there is an actual grown up in the debate, it will make them look bad.
Wasn't Gary Johnson the "what's Aleppo?" guy?

……Florida Gov. and Republican presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis, however, downplayed the 6 January events during a podcast interview on Friday with comedian Russell Brand.

He said the day’s events, which left five dead, stemmed from a “protest” that “ended up devolving, you know, in a way that was unfortunate, of course.”

The governor told Mr Brand that the idea that Jan. 6 “was a plan to somehow overthrow the government of the United States is not true, and it’s something that the media had spun up.”

DeSantis, who is now challenging both former President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, also said Friday that it was “ridiculous” how much money was being provided for the US Capitol police in the wake of the attack.

The Florida governor has made similar comments in the past dismissing that the attack was an insurrection, saying at a January 2022 news conference that it was “an insult to people” to call it an insurrection when “nobody has been charged with that.”……..

Jebus H Christ you weaselly little Mussolini, people were convicted of sedition.

I didn’t think things could get worse for DeSantis. Evidently his media people might be Nazi-adjacent:

Evidently the video was deleted, but again, this is the symbol adopted by local FL Nazis. That cannot be an accident:

In many election cycles, there’s a snappy shorthand used to describe the type of voters who may help decide the winner. Think soccer moms or security moms. Even NASCAR dads.

    And now, the “mama bears.”

These conservative mothers and grandmothers, who in recent years have organized for “parental rights,” including banning discussion of gender identity in schools, have been classified as extremists by the Southern Poverty Law Center. They have also been among the most coveted voters so far in the 2024 Republican presidential primary.

Donald Trump praised their work, saying organizations such as Moms for Liberty had taught the liberal left a lesson: “Don’t mess with America’s moms.” Ron DeSantis said “woke” policies had “awakened the most powerful political force in the country: mama bears.”

His wife, Casey DeSantis, who launched “Mamas for DeSantis” in leadoff-voting Iowa, said moms and grandmas were the “game changer” in DeSantis’ blowout win for a second term as Florida governor. She predicted they will be again as he runs for president.

“We saw there was a constituency of folks who really wanted a voice, and it wasn’t just Republicans. It was independents, but also a lot of Democrats, too, who didn’t like the direction that the country was going,” Casey DeSantis said during a talk peppered with stories about raising kids in the governor’s mansion, with slime on the ceiling and crayon on wallpaper.

“It’s one thing when your policies come after us as mamas. It’s another thing when your policies come after our children, and that’s when the claws come out.”

These so-called mama bears whom DeSantis and other Republicans are courting are conservative women living across the United States. They are largely white and may belong to official groups such as Moms for Liberty, which says it has 120,000 members nationally, or smaller ones like No Left Turn in Education. Some belong to no group at all.

The groups and their work took off during the COVID-19 pandemic, when they say parents got a closer look at what their children were being exposed to in public schools. They grew in numbers as Democrat Joe Biden defeated Trump in 2020 and were motivated by what they called government overreach and “woke” policies.……

Wait until the real Mama Bears are revealed. The ones who're horrified that their daughters are dying of pregnancy/childbirth.
