I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

We have learned everything is impeachable. Am I missing the part of 'take up arms' because I don't see it.
Not everything is impeachable, but this idiotic president has done many impeachable things. He should've been impeached for his Russian actions, Ukrainian actions, emoluments abuses, ignoring warnings and inaction to prepare for the virus warnings, and perhaps inciting violence.

And since you mentioned it, we sure could have used some of that intuition and famous instinct of his back in January-early March.

He operates on instinct and instinctually, in spite of warnings from within his own administration and flashing signals coming from multiple countries, he decided that coronavirus was comparable to the flu and not something we should worry much with.

It's a poor way to lead, that's become all too obvious.

Its important to remember just who Trump is... and not be fooled.

Well, the US President is now egging on protesters to ignore local governments and gather together.

We do all realize he could care less if many of these folks get sick and spread it to others and die. This is about creating anger and rebellion so he can amp up his base for November

One thing anyone who supports this lunacy should remember...Nature always wins. These folks may not 'believe' in evolution or understand or care about basic biology, but Darwin Awards will likely be showing up at many doorsteps.

    Good luck

But perhaps the biggest tell of Trump’s cowardice came in a story he told Howard Stern.
Once upon a time, Trump explained matter-of-factly, he was hosting a charity ball at Mar-a-Lago at which several members of the Marine Corps were in attendance, along with a host of rich people “eager to get their picture in the Palm Beach Post,” as he put it. Lo and behold, at some point during the evening, an 80-year-old man—”very wealthy,” Trump adds, but also, “a lot of people didn’t like him”—fell off the stage and hit his head. Trump thought the man had died. “And you know what I did?”…I said, ‘Oh my God, that’s disgusting,’ and I turned away. I couldn’t—you know, he was right in front of me, and I turned away. I didn’t want to touch him…He’s bleeding all over the place, I felt terrible. You know, beautiful marble floor, didn’t look like it. It changed color. Became very red.”

This is border line inciting violence. Isn’t that illegal? Is it impeachable?

No, you are pretending he said things he did not say. That governor in MI has lost her mind and the people are right not to stand for it.

Yeah, it's an oppressive regime they are fighting against...Can be likened to Rosa Parks wanting to sit at the front of a bus like her white counterparts. The right to spread disease as they wish? Thats what they're fighting for.

I mean forget coronavirus for a second.. does anyone think in their right mind these "patriots" could sprint around the block without borderline passing out? Pitiful.

And no, I'm not just dripping with sarcasm (ok maybe there's some slight leakage) this was an actual statement from the White House:

Who is asking people to liberate Minnestoa and Michigan from? Did Canada invade?

You can argue that this is a "political" liberation if you want. However, wouldn't it be better to say, "Vote out the Democrats in Michigan, Minnesota, and Virginia"? In short, there is a less inflammatory way to say it, but his words sound like a call to arms--especially to his avid supporters. To be honest, his avid supporters are easily manipulated by him. Let's be honest--they are.

This election may be violent, and it will be his avid supporters that are the sources of the violence. I have seen it to a lesser extent where I live. It has a strong Tea Party presence. The Democrats had the audacity to put people on the ballot this past November in my county (usually they don't have the support). The Tea Party people were at the polls removing other people's signs and engaging in acts of intimidation. This included going up to the few Democrats campaigning at the polls and trying to cover up their signs, and in one instance actually physically knock a lady out of the way to a voter that was approaching the polls. The Democrats were barely able to 25% of the vote in most of the elections. They were no threat to win any offices, but these maniacs could not stand that they were there voicing a differnce of opinions. The far right have lost their collective minds.

The November elections, with higher stakes and much more competitive, will be worse. The reason for that is that Trump will encourage it. It is time to call it like it is. He is inciting his base, and his base is simple enough to be manipulated by him.

Let me guess, these "Tea Party" people were putting nooses around people's necks, pouring bleach on them and screaming "this is MAGA country!"

You need to come to grips with the fact leftists lie about this kind of crap all the time.

For example, that Karen up in MI just said there were protestors with Nazi flags. In actuality, there was a Bernie bro there with a Swastika on it that also had the names of Trump and Pence

Lots of poorly educated Americans think that Adolph Hitler was a socialist.

Fox News host defended anti-lockdown protesters who called Michigan's governor a Nazi as they...

On Friday, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld argued that Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer had wrongly tarred ..

I would say the fact that he writes "take up arms" much more than borderline
I still can't find anywhere that has him saying or writing "take up arms", can you point it out?

If people want to protest the lockdown, or anything else for that matter, they should be allowed to peacefully protest. If I understand them correctly, I agree that some of the restrictions in Michigan were excessive and a bit absurd. That said, if you show up to your protest with automatic weapons, the only way I can interpret that is that you intend to communicate a physical threat. In such a case, I believe their permit should have been revoked and potentially arrests made (I don't know Michigan law). In any event, the governor would have been justified IMO if she had stopped the protest in its tracks.

I don’t take responsibility at all,” said President Donald Trump in the Rose Garden on March 13. Those words will probably end up as the epitaph of his presidency, the single sentence that sums it all up.

Trump now fancies himself a “wartime president.” How is his war going? By the end of March, the coronavirus had killed more Americans than the 9/11 attacks. By the first weekend in April, the virus had killed more Americans than any single battle of the Civil War. By Easter, it may have killed more Americans than the Korean War.

On the present trajectory, it will kill, by late April, more Americans than Vietnam. Having earlier promised that casualties could be held near zero, Trump now claims he will have done a “very good job” if the toll is held below 200,000 dead.

The United States is on trajectory to suffer more sickness, more dying, and more economic harm from this virus than any other comparably developed country............

In Trump's 'LIBERATE' tweets, extremists see a call to arms
    NBC NEWS· 21 hours ago
When President Donald Trump tweeted "LIBERATE MINNESOTA!" on Friday morning, some of his most...

He said that in relation to Virginia. As far as I know, the Michigan governor didn't threaten anyone's gun rights. I wasn't there, but if a mob of people storm a government building with automatic weapons, I would consider that a threat.

Trump is bumping up to seditiom.. No surprise. He's just not that bright.

I'm pretty certain that there isn't any place where he used the specific words "take up arms."
