It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

In 2014, a few years after the birth of her second child, Jenny left China to flee an abusive relationship and government persecution for violating the one-child policy.

She brought her younger daughter to San Francisco and, though undocumented, found work at a childcare facility and eventually married a US citizen.

Because of extended delays in visa processing, her green card application remains in limbo after three years, but she’s never been particularly afraid of her immigration status.

That is until Donald Trump won re-election last November, fueled in part by a promise to conduct the largest mass deportation program in US history.

Jenny – the Guardian is using an alias to protect her identity – said she had been afraid to go to work, buy groceries or even meet her friends outside.

Her husband, she said, urged her not to leave the house unless absolutely necessary until her visa is approved. Many other Chinese immigrants in her community share her fears, she said.

“People are very scared,” Jenny said. “My husband and I are very scared. So many policies have changed and so many more are coming from White House that might have an impact on us.”

On the campaign trail, Trump said he would prioritize deporting Chinese nationals of military age, suggesting without proof that they are building an army in the US. Immigrant rights advocates say Trump’s targeted rhetoric has instilled an unprecedented level of fear and anxiety in Chinese communities, both among newly arrived migrants and undocumented immigrants who have lived in the US for decades…….

This is something we talked about earlier in the thread - the agents can’t just disregard the tort and constitutional law without getting sued.

Seems that sending a few planes of alleged gang members off to a notorious El Salvador prison might be intended to encourage self deporting.

Top Trump adviser Stephen Miller absolutely lost it on live television on Monday over criticism that former federal prosecutor-turned-MSNBC legal analyst Andrew Weissmann had leveled at Donald Trump over the president’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport migrants.

Fox News’ Martha MacCallum played footage of Weissmann describing Trump’s legally questionable move as possibly unconstitutional because the act was really intended to be used when the United States is at war.

Anti-immigration hardliner Miller, the Trump White House deputy chief of staff for policy, exploded in anger, saying:

Andrew Weissmann is an absolute moron. He is a moron, and he is a fool, and he’s a degenerate. Andrew Weissman has devoted his career to putting innocent Americans in jail, taking away their civil liberties. He was involved in the Mueller coup against a democratically elected president, Donald J. Trump. Weissmann should never be on TV anywhere. He should hang his head in eternal shame for what he’s done to this country. And now he’s up there shilling for people who rape and murder Americans. That’s who Andrew Weissmann is.

“You can call Weissmann names and he can call you names, and that’s what’s great about living in America,” MacCallum told Miller as he wound down his initial rant.

Miller then became even more animated, shouting: “I will defend American lives working for President Trump, and Andrew Weissmann can defend illegal alien rapists, terrorists and predators. I’ve chosen my side.”.............

"Steven Miller - Lost It", should be his official name. That seems to be all he knows how to do in an interview. Why anybody would interview him when all they get is that same pointless crap is beyond me.

Holy shirt people are really STUPID.

"Say and do cruel things as much as possible!!! Just not to me. Oh wait, you're after me now? You liar!!!!!!"

At this point this is like someone losing a shirt ton of money betting on a hand of three card monte or trying to help a Nigerian prince

"I don't know what to tell you, this kind of all your fault"

And I'll admit that I do take a small amount of perverse glee in these FAFO videos

Same. Then I take step back and realize folks are losing their livelihood to no fault of their own because of people like this.
I agree. And I'm furious and saddened that this is happening. But when things are this dark you have to take whatever little joy there is to take

And I'm taking mine from seeing these idiots getting what they deserved and finding out that their love of Trump wasn't a shield from the bad things he said he was going to do

Do you think it’s a good idea to basically grab people and call them gang members and send them to a prison in another country without any due process? Do the ends justify the means in your opinion?

I have a big issue with sending them directly to a foreign prison. It’s just wrong.

Every gang member, illegally present, should be rounded up and properly deported.

But a gang member, illegally present, might have second thoughts about remaining if they realize they could end up in one of the worlds most notorious prisons. And I wonder if the few planes sent to El Salvador were intended to plant that fear. Seems a bit coincidental that the self deport app popped up about the same time.

You do realize that what’s happening violates international law, right? You cannot legally send people to a prison in a country where they are not citizens and may have never even set foot before. And I’d wager it’s also illegal to deport American citizens to a foreign jail. It is cruel and illegal -and your justification of this is "plant fear" does not superceed the rights of people under international law.

    So much for free speech.

French scientist denied US entry after phone messages critical of Trump found

France’s research minister said the scientist was traveling to Houston for a conference when his phone was searched

France’s research minister said a French scientist was denied entry to the US this month after immigration officers at an airport searched his phone and found messages in which he had expressed criticism of the Trump administration.
“I learned with concern that a French researcher” on assignment for the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) “who was traveling to a conference near Houston was denied entry to the United States before being expelled”, Philippe Baptiste, France’s minister of higher education and research, said in a statement on Monday to Agence France-Presse published by Le Monde. “This measure was apparently taken by the American authorities because the researcher’s phone contained exchanges with colleagues and friends in which he expressed a personal opinion on the Trump administration’s research policy,” the minister added.

I didn’t justify anything. Try reading the first two sentences again.
