    Russia continues to mass assets within range of Ukraine - though the official explanations are that they are for various exercises. United States intelligence has noted that Russian operatives in Ukraine could launch 'false flag' operations as a predicate to invasion. The West has pressed for negotiations and on Friday in Geneva, the US Sec. State Blinken will meet with the Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov.

    Certainly the Russian movements evidence some plan - but what is it? Some analysts believe that Putin's grand scheme involves securing Western commitments that NATO would never expand beyond its current composition. Whether that means action in Ukraine or merely the movement of pieces on the chess board remains to be seen.


    VIENNA — No one expected much progress from this past week’s diplomatic marathon to defuse the security crisis Russia has ignited in Eastern Europe by surrounding Ukraine on three sides with 100,000 troops and then, by the White House’s accounting, sending in saboteurs to create a pretext for invasion.

    But as the Biden administration and NATO conduct tabletop simulations about how the next few months could unfold, they are increasingly wary of another set of options for President Vladimir V. Putin, steps that are more far-reaching than simply rolling his troops and armor over Ukraine’s border.

    Mr. Putin wants to extend Russia’s sphere of influence to Eastern Europe and secure written commitments that NATO will never again enlarge. If he is frustrated in reaching that goal, some of his aides suggested on the sidelines of the negotiations last week, then he would pursue Russia’s security interests with results that would be felt acutely in Europe and the United States.

    There were hints, never quite spelled out, that nuclear weapons could be shifted to places — perhaps not far from the United States coastline — that would reduce warning times after a launch to as little as five minutes, potentially igniting a confrontation with echoes of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

    There's no evidence that those people are Russian cutouts as you claim other than what the US war machine mouthpieces in the corporate media tell you.

    I never said that, so weak strawman. Someone asked why we shouldn't be paying for fertilizer for farmers in Ukraine, all of Ukraine’s 1st responders or subsidizing small businesses in Ukraine. I listed things that show it's not a democracy and also mentioned the literal Nazis in Ukraine.

    It's a fledgling democracy. But you don't recognize this since you are tasked with peddling propaganda.

    Funny how you don't reply to the rest of that or other posts showing Russian missile attacks on civilian areas that have ZERO military affiliation. Just yesterday they bombed a funeral wake that killed 52 of a town of 300. Where is your outrage ? Where is your Glen on that? Or yall just ignore it?

    The US are evil imperialists for waging a proxy war!!!! Meanwhile, Russia talks of how they can nuke the US. How the Alaskan purchase was illegitimate. How if the world needs to all speak Russian. That the old Soviet countries all belong to them. The Warsaw pact needs to grovel at their feet. Oh, all these African instability has a source....

    His source are all doing one thing...to evoke an emotional response. As that holds stronger and longer on a person's attitude and opinions. We all hate nazis. Even the nazis. So associate Ukraine to being nazis.

    You think a spy will put out that they are spies?????? But obviously she has link to the endowment for democracy. That is public. You cant disprove that! And since the US government pays part of their bills, they are owned by the US government. And since the CIA is part of the government, they run the endowment for democracy. And as such, Anne applebaum is running Ukraine. This link is irrefutable.

    I twice showed that what you were saying wasn't true was actually true.

    I didn't say that Russia invaded Ukraine because of their Nazis. Do you have trouble reading posts because I said nothing even close to that?

    I brought up Ukraines Nazi's when someone asked why I didn't think the US should be subsidizing Ukraines farmers, small businesses or 1st responders.

    MY THOUGHTS on this conflict comes from ASSURANCES MY COUNTRY made to the Ukrainians in 1994 during the TRI-lateral talks between Ukraine, Rus & USA regarding Ukraine's nuclear disarmament after the fall of the USSR. It starts and stop there.
