This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

Remember reading about someone in NV shooting into Democratic elected officials homes? In at least one case bullets went into someone’s daughter‘s room while she was asleep in her bed. Nobody was hurt or killed by sheer luck. Well, it was a defeated R state candidate, a MAGA election-denier.

He'll probably win the next republican candidacy while in jail...

What exactly is Christian conservative wireless?

You only sell to Christian conservatives?

The service cuts out if someone is having a liberal atheist conversation?
    ==========================

A conservative Texas-based phone company is planning a takeover of political offices in the US state, starting with public schools.

Patriot Mobile, which calls itself “America’s only Christian conservative wireless provider”, has been fueling an extremist conservative movement taking over curriculum in public schools across Texas.

Leigh Wambsganss, the executive director of the company and its political arm, proudly declared victory in 11 out of 11 school board seats in the last election cycle in school districts around the Dallas-Fort Worth area on behalf of the company and conservative American Christians.

She said: “What this means is that now in north Texas, over 100,000 students who, before May, had leftist leadership now have conservative leadership!”

Earlier this year, the company established a political action committee, Patriot Mobile Action, which allows them to legally fundraise and finance political campaigns.

By acting as the financial backbone for the campaigns of far-right candidates for school boards, the phone company is seeking to promote its conservative agenda on issues like abortion, books and gender identity. It happens as across the US, school boards and local elections have witnessed intense fights as far-right candidates and groups have sought to win positions.

“Patriot Mobile Action is engaging on the front lines of this culture war. We are independently researching candidates and advocating on behalf of those who will stand for American values and stand against leftist indoctrination, racist Critical Race Theory and the sexualization of children that is rampant in public schools,” their website says.

Some key beliefs of the organization are American exceptionalism, “Critical Race Theory and Marxist policies have no place in schools or government,” and that “the United States constitution was founded on Judeo-Christian principles”……..

A brief Facebook post appeared innocuous.

The Grapevine Police Department thanked a local company for gifting its staff a pizza party, adding that it was “blessed to have their support and encouragement.”

But the gift, made by the Christian conservative Patriot Mobile cellphone company, caused an outcry on social media, where people urged the department to return it.

On Saturday, Grapevine police said it would not accept the $1,500 gift certificate to Cane Rosso and would instead donate it to an organization in need.

“We do not question a donor’s beliefs, we simply express our gratitude,” the department wrote in a follow-up post. “In this case, however, the donation brought out deep emotion.”

In a prepared statement, Patriot Mobile said Grapevine police “took a knee,” in rejecting the gift.

Patriot Mobile — which describes itself as “America’s only Christian conservative wireless provider” — has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to promote like-minded candidates in recent Tarrant County suburban school board races.

Last spring, the company’s political action committee sent thousands of political mailers accusing sitting school board members of endangering students with critical race theory and other “woke” ideas regarding gender and race.

All 11 candidates backed by Patriot Mobile won their races across four school districts: Grapevine-Colleyville, Southlake, Keller and Mansfield.

“If we lose Tarrant County, we lose Texas,” Jenny Story, Patriot Mobile’s chief operating officer, told The New York Times. “If we lose Texas, we lose the country.”............

All Republicans do is waste this countries time, energy, money and attention on useless grievances that won't go anywhere. They need to impeach themselves for not passing any laws over the last 40 years to improve our immigration system, laws and courts and the functioning of our southern border. Because they don't believe in a functioning government, there ethos is to make everything government does untenable. This is no different. They are they cause of the majority of disfunction of our immigration system.

    guess this can go here

'Woke' has now replaced 'socialist/socialism' to describe anyone or anything the right doesn't like

"My woke teacher just gave me a F on my test"

"It was your history teacher. you said that Abraham Lincoln was famous for inventing the penny"
    =================

Kyle Rittenhouse, the young man who was controversially aquitted of all charges after claiming he acted in self defence when he shot three people in Kenosha, Wisconsin, has condemned the so-called “woke mob” after several of his planned events were cancelled by the venues.

Mr Rittenhouse, 20, has been something of a hero of the gun rights movement and makes regular appearances at both private and public events, since he was cleared by a Wisconsin jury.

Two of the people he shot died, and a third was seriously injured, amid disturbances and high tensions that followed the August 2020 shooting by police of a Black man, Jacob Blake.

Speaking to Sebastian Gorka, a right-wing populist who briefly served in the administration of Donald Trump and is now a conservative media personality, Mr Rittenhouse complained that two events he was due to appear at had been cancelled.

One had been due to be held at a brewery in Texas, while another, a “private reception”, was scheduled to take place in the The Oak Room inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian, in Las Vegas.

Mr Gorka, who has his own podcast, “America First”, and also hosts a weekend programme called The Gorka Reality Check on NewsMax TV, asked Mr Rittenhouse what had happened.

”I was supposed to be giving a speech at Southern Star Brewery with Defiance Press, and they booted us because the woke mob found out I posted about it,” Mr Rittenhouse told Mr Gorka, who was apparently hosting his programme from a gun show.

“I tried to promote it to get people to come and hear about censorship and the Second Amendment and they didn't like that.”

Mr Rittenhouse went on to say that the Texas event had now been rearranged.

“But just recently, as of this morning, the Oak Room room at the Venetian canceled us and bent to the woke mob, saying we aren't going to host you guys anymore,” he said..........

So some MAGA R wants to make a law in ND about what pronouns people have to use. It basically provides a fine of over $1k for using a pronoun to describe yourself that doesn’t align with your DNA. Yes, this was an actual bill. They had a committee hearing on it today and . . . It didn’t go well, lol.

I didn’t bookmark the Twitter thread from someone who was monitoring the proceedings but I will recap her reports as best I can remember.

There were over 80 members of the public who signed up to comment on this bill, all opposed. 👍🏻

One of the first questions the lawmaker was asked was about enforcing this law. How did he envision the enforcement? He basically was stunned, he stammered a bit and then said that DNA testing for XX or XY was super easy to perform (LOL). So next question-do you support forced DNA testing to determine if someone isn’t using the correct pronouns? He hemmed and hawed and then went all in - sure, forced DNA testing.

At which point, thankfully, he lost the room. Lawmakers in ND voted 7-0 NOT to put this bill to a vote in the legislature. Reportedly he is undeterred and will try to get around this setback.

Because by god the government needs to forcibly collect your DNA to make sure you’re not using communist pronouns. 🤦‍♀️

Some non-MAGA conservatives in the Republican Party have criticized Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for using his position to bully Disney, including New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu and former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan. But being a far-right culture warrior is a big part of DeSantis’ brand. DeSantis draws a lot of publicity in right-wing media by going after targets he considers “woke,” and the Florida governor regards a wide range of targets as “woke.”

DeSantis’ latest target is the National Hockey League (NHL). As he sees it, the NHL’s push for diversity is an example of “wokeness.” But some GOP strategists, according to Daily Beast reporter Jake Lahut, are questioning the wisdom of making the NHL a target of his “anti-woke” wrath.

Lahut, in an article published by the Beast on January 18, explains, “Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is squaring off with an unlikely opponent: the NHL. In the latest battle of the culture wars, the NHL — where gloves-off fighting still brings just a five-minute penalty, where the player base is 93 percent white, and until the hiring of Mike Grier by the San Jose Sharks earlier this month, there had yet to be a Black general manager in the history of the sport — has somehow become the new epitome of woke culture gone awry.”...........

And the R's still try to claim they are the party of smaller gov't.. Its laughable and if someone even has an afterthought that they are, then that person is about idiotic as they come.. Yes, if you are reading this and you are one who thinks they are for smaller gov't, then i am calling you an idiot..

Heard more about this on TV: this man was frustrated because nobody had been hit with the gunfire and so he told his hired accomplices to shoot at 8 PM when more people would likely be awake and not lying down. He also went along himself on the 4th attempt. Presumably to show them how to do it correctly. 😱

Also the 10 or 11 yo girl was awakened by drywall dust hitting her face - she thought it was spiders in her bed. She got her mom up, who had heard the gunshots but thought they were fireworks. Her mom came to bed with her to help her get back to sleep - and they both felt some “sand” in the bed. In the morning they realized that a bullet had passed through the wall.

This is just plain old fascism. Terroristic. Horrible.

There’s a concerted effort to make straight, white men like me perpetually angry.

In case you’re not paying attention, guys are constantly reminded that we are the victims of diversity, feminism and what has generally come to be known as “wokeness.”

Here in Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis plays the role of civil rights leader for us beleaguered straight, white males. This takes many forms.

Most recently, the perpetual DeSantis campaign took credit for scuttling a National Hockey League job fair next month in South Florida that had been directed at recruiting “diverse job seekers who are pursuing careers in hockey.”

“NHL: You are officially on notice about your planned events in Florida,” DeSantis’ political spokesperson Christina Pushaw tweeted. “Unlawful discrimination will not be tolerated.”

Yes, it’s high time for white guys to have a presence in ice hockey. We will not be taking any seats in the back of the Zamboni.

DeSantis isn’t alone in orchestrating manufactured consternation. Last week, U.S. Rep. Jim Banks from Indiana announced he will be forming the first-ever “Anti-Woke Caucus” in the U.S. House of Representatives to fight what he called “the greatest threat to America today.”

    Sheesh. I had no idea.

It’s hard to keep track of all the efforts to make me feel angry. The latest one involves M&M’s candy. Seriously.

The candy maker Mars announced last week a promotion to honor women in advance of International Women’s Day on March 8.

To do that, the candy maker will offer bags of M&M’s in packages that say “Supporting Women: Flipping the Status Quo.” The bags feature the cartoon images of its “female brand mascots” — the green and brown M&M — along with a recently added purple M&M, which symbolizes “acceptance and inclusivity.”

"Women all over the world are flipping how they define success and happiness while challenging the status quo, so we're thrilled to be able to recognize and celebrate them — and who better to help us on that mission than our own powerhouse spokescandies Green, Brown and Purple?" a company spokesperson explained.

The candy company is donating $1 to a women-empowering organization for each women-themed package of M&M’s sold.

I know what you’re thinking: What’s a “spokescandy,” and should I feel threatened by one? It turns out some of my fellow straight, white men have been working hard to persuade me that I have been victimized by the lack of our own M&M’s color................

Why did everyone of these freedom caucus pardon seekers want this committee? It has zero budgetary significance. Are they there to seek out possible indictments or info coming their way? Just doing the tucker Carlson and asking questions.

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A jury began deliberating Thursday in the federal criminal case of a man who told them that a death threat he made against U.S. Rep. Jake LaTurner came from God, prompted by the Kansas Republican ignoring concerns about sorcery, wizards, extraterrestrials and a war for people's souls.

Federal prosecutors say Chase Neill, 32, from Lawrence in northeastern Kansas, fixated on LaTurner before leaving an after-hours voicemail with the congressman's Topeka office that included, “I will kill you.” Neill's trial comes amid a sharp rise in reported threats against elected officials and their families.

Representing himself in court, Neill admitted that he left that message and others with more death threats the next day. But he told jurors that he was merely the messenger, telling LaTurner and other officials that they faced death by an act of God, such as a tornado or hurricane, for attacking God's creation.

“This is not me saying, ‘I’m going to chase you down with a knife,' or something like that,” Neill said in his closing argument...............

In Neill's case, he said his concerns about a war for souls were sparked by a May 13 story on the Kansas Reflector news site about a legislative debate in which a western Kansas lawmaker urged colleagues to override Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly's veto of a measure that would have restricted public health officials' power in epidemics following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Republican state Rep. Tatum Lee, was quoted as saying, “The war is real you all. We are fighting for the soul of our nation."

In court Thursday, Neill told jurors he values his soul and was required by God to act when he “heard the sound of the trumpet.”

He also showed jurors a LinkedIn page for himself, saying he dealt with “matters concerning over 400 million lives lost with high sorcery.”

“I am held to an obligation by our Creator,” Neill said..........
