This just illustrates why lawyers for Fox were able to successfully defend Tucker by claiming no reasonable person expects to get facts from him.

How are people fooled by this? The minute I saw the fake claim on social media that the “windmills are all frozen” I was skeptical. There are windmills all over the North. It just didn’t make sense.

Just wanted to point out there are a couple of false things about Cruz and the TX deal going around. Read about it from Daniel Dale. First is a supposed tweet from Ted a while ago saying he would believe in climate change when TX freezes over. Didn’t happen. Second is a supposed fund-raising message from Ted claiming “cancel culture” from the Dems over his Cancun trip. He hasn‘t fund-raised from this. At least not yet, lol.

Best quote I did see was from a former Cruz communications person on TV who was asked about the trip, and said something like “this is what is known in the communications business as a ‘dumb arse move’ “. That must be the technical term for it, lol.

It's interesting to me that according to Republican dogma they have never been wrong. They can never admit that deregulation caused this scenario. They could have easily admitted that, and pointed the finger at Bill Clinton. Which I personally think plays better with their base then a comical hypothesis involving freezing windmills.

Nah, this plays perfectly. AOC and green energy are currently top level conservative media boogeymen.

    But she's feeding people.

I think she'll win over a lot of folks in Texas by her actions

No, she won't. There's really very little that can move the needle on her for most of the country and Texas is at the extreme end of that. She's the socialist boogeyman to Texans and there's nothing she can do to change that. She could pave the streets with gold and they'd still hate her.

Yea I wish I could agree with you Ward, but I think this is the more likely response ^

She is leading by example. Never underestimate the personal touch. Those people she encounters there will remember her and if she has even a small amount of empathy and ability to connect with people across the different demographics (which I do believe she has), she may make some people think twice about what else they have heard about her..

Also - this is not only about Texas. She makes headlines all over the US with her work. The contrast between her and Cruz (not to mention Trump) will make people reevalute what they know about her.

I agree with Dragon. Things are really bad in Texas: no power or heat with a foot of snow, and millions without clean drinking water. The average person is watching their senior Republican politicians casting blame on others and not actually solving the problem. Folks right now don't a tinker's cuss about holding ERCOT officials accountable. They want to be warm, fed and safe; they want their burst water pipes fixed, they don't want to face outrageous electricity bills based on spot market wholesale rates. AOC is doing something right now to make their lives better right now. They won't forget that.

    Never underestimate cults and religions.

Sad part is that 5 years ago there was a bill proposed in the Texas legislature that would have required the energy companies to be prepared for events such as this. It was killed by Republicans because it was "regulation." We keep electing fools and are shocked when their foolish actions/inaction leads to disaster.

What is very interesting is that several of my Libertarian friends are crying out on social media asking why this was allowed to happen and when is the government gonna step in and fix it. I have kept my mouth shut because they are all suffering but you can imagine what I am thinking.
