I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

    Surprised it took this long...

Y'all wanna be 100% disgusted with Florida and, specifically, Ron deSantis' punk arse COVID actions? Watch this video of cops storming the house of Rebekah Jones' house today after she had the nerve to call the governor out for his garbage handling of COVID.

... this is getting weird, for sure.

    That is sickening.
Especially since she's a Saints fan! But, in all seriousness, this should be investigated by some kind of federal agency (or whoever would have the jurisdiction to do something about a sitting governor pulling this kind of CYA bullshirt) and he should be prosecuted if her claims are true.

That is some straight bullshirt there. As backwards as Louisiana could be, we are blessed to have Edwards who has at least the sense to know how serious this shirt is and even in areas where I disagree, he is thoughtful enough to allow local leaders to make decisions of their own within reason.

And then you get this butt crevasse in the White House. So much for everyone being able to get a vaccine by the Summer. They all need to be thrown in jail.

The Trump administration declined additional doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine late this summer when the pharmaceutical company offered them to the U.S. government, a senior Trump administration official familiar with the matter confirmed to ABC News.

Pfizer may be unable to produce more of the vaccine for United States citizens until June 2021 because it has committed those doses to other countries.

Yea I had the awful thought of COVID under Rispone a couple months in...

    Happening today on Capitol Hill...

And I thought the Senate was supposed to be the grown-ups of Congress.
They are transitioning to "we can't let the public possibly give Biden any credit for the vaccine roll out" so, watch them go from putting all of their eggs in the vaccine basket to vaccines shouldn't be mandatory, but we have to open the economy.

republicans are the new "do nothing" party.
