    This thread might be useful if it were for serious discussion about sexual assault accusations and not just posted as a "gotcha" thread. Therefore it's simply useless, as those on the right are gonna piss themselves with glee at trying to own the libs and completely ignore their own past history of defending against SA allegations and tearing down accusers, while those on the left are going to sidestep discussing the issue and allegation because it should be taken seriously and investigated but they know this isn't a real attempt at discussion by the conservatives so they'll deflect and point out the obvious hypocrisy.

    What do you believe should happen with his campaign as a result of this allegation and do you think it should have any bearing on him running for POTUS?

    Since I don't know whether the allegations are true it's not really possible for me to say what Biden should do.

    I think the allegations should be responsibly vetted to the extent possible considering the passage of time and that as far as we know there are only two possible first hand witnesses - the accuser and Joe Biden. The video did make reference to a claim that the accuser made contemperaneous statements to colleagues and/or friends at the time of the alleged incident. Those statements, IMO, have some value but they may be of limited value.

    My position is consistent with the position I have always taken. "Believe all women" is a ridiculous standard that ignores the fact that women are, after all, simply humans.

    I can recall during the time of the Kananaugh hearings listening to a podcast where someone opined that it simply would not make sense for Ford to make up such a story and put herself in a position of needlessly publicly defending a lie.

    Well, fast forward just a few months later and we had the question of whether someone would do that resolved by one Juicy Smollett. Not only did he needlessly put himself in that position, he did so at the risk of a fairly successful career.

    So, I am not saying at this early stage what I believe and what the final outcome should be. I am just bringing forth a story with some possible ramifications to the election of a U.S. President for discussion.

    I also feel that it is worthy of discussion that (as far as I know) the MSM has yet to address the story.

    The thread was a blank slate. It's not a gotcha unless you make it a gotcha by ... well, doing what you just did.

    His supporters are ok with him groping and smelling women and underage girls, so why would this be a big deal to them?
     
    Biden should probably resign. Very decent chance I only vote down ticket for this and other reasons.

    That said, the guy with the trollish avatar of Kavanaugh that spent a month making every excuse, fallacy, whataboutism, and bullshirt argument to defend that shirtstain(and actively supports a president accused of rape and sexual assault by over a dozen woman) has no credible standing to say a damn thing about this, wag even a single finger at others, or even pretend he took an ounce of even-handed gather all evidence when it was his tribe being accused.

    Sorry, I forgot about the point you made. Go ahead, if you want to discuss why you feel that Biden should pull out of the race we will all listen.

    Exactly - I might have an interest in exploring the topic if there was good faith on the other side, but there's not. It's obviously hypocritical to call out Biden given Trump's history (I know, BF, more whataboutism), but each side applies different standards to their own side than the other. Just not worth it.

    Look on the bright side - this got him off the subject of Biden's mental unfitness for the Presidency.

    It's pretty funny actually. Trump supporters attacking Biden for (take your pick):

    Mental unfitness
    Corruption; and now
    Sexual assault

    I'm impressed they can do it with a straight face.
