A flag associated with far right groups that was used by January 6 rioters was flown above a government agency headquarters in Washington D.C. last week.

A picture of the “Appeal to Heaven” flag, flying just below the U.S. flag was shared by Kelly Loeffler, the former senator from Georgia and current administrator of the Small Business Administration on June 11.

“Today at SBA’s Flag Day Ceremony, we proudly raised a new AMERICAN MADE flag over our headquarters in Washington,” Loeffler wrote. “It is a privilege to serve under its Stars and Stripes - on behalf of the 34 million small businesses who represent the best of America.”

The “Appeal to Heaven” flag, also known as the “Pine Tree flag”, dates back to the Revolutionary War, and in recent years has become linked to Christian Nationalists. Others use it to show their identification with a patriotic movement that focuses on the founding fathers and the American Revolution.

Sources told WIRED that the “Appeal to Heaven” flag above the SBA building was raised for less than a day. It is unclear who raised it, an unnamed staffer told the outlet.

The Independent has reached out to the SBA for comment.

As of Wednesday the picture remained on Loeffler’s official profile on X.

The flag has been at the center of controversy previously, including last summer when reports emerged that it had been flown multiple times outside the New Jersey vacation home of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito in 2023.

Around the same time The New York Times reported that another flagpole on the judge’s front lawn at a property in Virginia had flown an upside-down American flag in late 2020 and early 2021, in the days after Joe Biden took office.

The “Appeal To Heaven” flag and the inverted US flag were both embraced by supporters of Donald Trump’s “Stop The Steal” campaign, which falsely claimed Biden’s victory was fraudulent................

A new MAGA movement, MABA, aims to “Make America Beautiful Again” one building at a time, according to a new Politico report.

“Classical architecture is the architecture of American democracy,” Justin Shubow, the president of the non-profit National Civic Art Society, told the outlet. “It is the architecture of civic virtue.”

Shubow has teamed up with Republican mega-donor and chair of the conservative think tank the Claremont Institute, Tom Klingenstein, to make buildings across the United States beautiful again.

“The American people think [classical buildings] are more beautiful — it’s just common sense,” Klingenstein told the outlet. “And as you know, Trump operates on common sense.”

He then elaborated, “Central to [Trump’s] thinking is anti-wokeness, and modern architecture’s rejection of the past is woke.”

Klingenstein added, “In this woke world, we’re trying to erase our past and reject as racist our Western roots [returning to classical design and architecture], we’re trying to recover our Western heritage.”

The group's first attempt to sway Trump to their plight would be to rebuild a key transit hub in the blue heart of New York City, Penn Station.

“I think it could be a way of making amends with the city by doing something great for it,” Klingenstein told the outlet. He later added that the move would be a "pure expression of the Trumpian ethos": “This is big. It’s bold. It’s Trump.”.........

MAGA’s Plan to Remake an Iconic New York Landmark

I know I shouldn't, so I don't, but I'd really like to hope that someday soon Charlie Kirk ends up on the wrong side of silverback that has a fancy for human males right after it's been shot up with a cocktail of concentrated Viagra, bremelanotide and amphetamines. If you've seen Trading Places, then you get the gist. I can stress enough that I don't hope for that. I'd just like to hope for that.

A neo-Nazi fight club that secretly infiltrated a Tennessee martial arts school where young children train has been banned from the facility, after an inquiry by the Guardian.

Last month, the South Central Tennessee Active Club published video footage on the messaging app Telegram showing its members participating in combat training at Shelbyville BJJ Academy, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu school in Shelbyville, Tennessee, that offers classes to students as young as three years old.

The group is part of the wider Active Club network, which consists of dozens of decentralized cells across the US and abroad that use combat sports to lure people into white nationalist and neo-Nazi causes.

While lesser known than other far-right groups like the Proud Boys, experts warn Active Clubs are acutely dangerous because they recruit boys and young men into violent white nationalist circles by using notions of fraternity as a gateway to extremism.

“What makes them unique is the ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing’ approach, which aims at fooling law enforcement into believing Active Clubs are just about sports,” Alexander Ritzmann, a political scientist and senior advisor at the Counter Extremism Project who studies the movement, told the Guardian.

In a 2023 report, Ritzmann warned that the ultimate goal of Active Clubs “is the creation of a stand-by militia of trained and capable [right wing extremists] who can be activated when the need for coordinated violent action on a larger scale arises”.

At one point in the video posted by the Tennessee cell, an Active Club flag featuring a sonnenrad, a symbol of Nazi Germany that has been adopted by neo-Nazis and other far-right extremists, can be seen hanging on the wall where young children would normally gather……….

Hmmm. Sounds like militarization of children. See also Good News Clubs.

But, hey, liberals are the ones who indoctrinate children.

Every claim by the right is a confession.

Under His Eye Umana, Umana, Umana.

    DUDE.

Back in high school, a friend's mom prayed over me once and started speaking in tongues. I sat there, eyes closed, unsure what to do, so I just listened to my friend and his brother talk about baseball. They thought I was moved by the Holy Spirit. I didn't have the heart to tell them the truth.

That's funny. I personally would have gone with Disturbed's Down with the Sickness, but that was really funny.

What I never could understand is why the holy ghost never speaks the same language twice. What's the point of speaking through people if no one can ever understand what you're trying to say to them?
