What happens to the Republican Party now? (2 Viewers)

This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

IMO Republicans would be wise to heed the advice of those who tell them to move as far away from Trump as possible, moving forward.. it reminds me of back in 2007/2008 when folks were telling Democrats ‘you gotta run this guy Obama if you’re smart, he would do really well’ and they were right.. As a registered Independent , i am sort of ‘above the fray’ and objective- i am pro-sanity, that’s all i am, and there is at least *some* sanity on the Left, but very little on the right.. but as an Independent, i would strongly suggest to the Republicans that if they ever want to win anyhting nationally ever again, stay far, far away from the Orange one.

Yes but they also don’t come out to vote for what they call a “RINO.” So yes, they won’t vote for a Democrat. But Republicans need them to actually vote. And they won’t vote if the R candidate alienates Trump

Explain what CRT is, because I would be willing to bet you don’t know. I do agree McAuliffe botched the education issue. He didn’t clearly expose the lies being told by Youngkin and Rs about what is being taught in the schools. Because it isn’t CRT.

He should have clearly called CRT panic out for what it is - fear-mongering. He should have shown actual public school history lessons. He should have asked - do you really want to ban the teaching of actual historical facts in our schools? Because that’s what Youngkin was standing for - book banning and censorship of the facts.

My first time logging in to this site in a couple of months- but i just came here to see if there’s been any talk about this moronic phrase “Let’s Go Brandon!”

As an actual Brandon, I do get annoyed when I hear people say it, but not because it's insulting. It's just so ridiculously childish.

I was at the game Sunday, and in my section, there were chants of "Let's go, Trevor!" but at some point when those chants stopped, a guy and a girl started alternating "Let's go, Brandon!" for like a full minute (no one else chimed in) and it was just the most cringe thing in the world. The state plays a role in the welfare of those that are disadvantaged. I have no issues with that.

CRT is just the latest boogieman from the right. It was at one point about migrant caravans, and transgender bathrooms. The topic doesn't matter, only the sectarian conflict that results. The pot must constantly be stirred.

Anyone who brings up CRT as a serious topic is outing themselves as someone who listens to the conservative outrage machine. The same people are always quick to tell us. They are registered independent, and open-minded free thinkers.

I disagree. He also won because Democrats can't sell shirt to flies and are categorically allergic to marketing to white people.

Here's their problem. The GOP has unapologetically, out loud and proudly positioned themselves as the party of white people. White people are still a majority in America. Thus, the GOP is the party of the majority. There are way more districts you can win without a single black vote than there are ones where you can win without whites. Failing to market your policies and plans to white people or, worse, deliberately alienating them is how you snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
