    It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

    Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

    Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

    I think it already has reached that point. The Boston Massacre was a massacre of a mere five people, it wasn't the massacre, it was the reactions of the people which followed it that is the big deal about that incident. The incident happened 6 years before the revolution, and it was clearly a leading proximate cause which led to the revolution in 1776.

    I should have elaborated, but when I was thinking Boston Massacre I was thinking about citizens being fired upon. In this case it would be the US military firing on citizens. unfortunately in today's world, a good portion of the country would probably be in support of such actions

    The brief detention took place at Tucson’s immigration court in Arizona and was due to a case of mistaken identity, the U.S. Marshals Service said.

    Imagine if it wasn't a US marshall but a regular citizent. How quickly do you think he would have been released ?

    ZZ I don't think the troops are going to be given any lethal bullets for their rifles. I would think that because that is how they have in the past deployed for crowd control.

    Kent State likely caused this separation of potential force. Someone will likely be there ready to issue them bullets at a moments notice, that's the separation part.

    They'll carry a club call it a batton, have a plastic shield, gas mask and helmet. Some are likely going to be issued a grenade launcher with tear gas grenades.
     
    Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Thursday deployed over 2,000 Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and over 5,000 Texas National Guard soldiers across the state “to assist local law enforcement response” to anti-ICE protests and “to maintain law and order,” according to a news release from the governor’s office.

    “Peaceful protests are part of the fabric of our nation, but Texas will not tolerate the lawlessness we have seen in Los Angeles in response to President Donald Trump’s enforcement of immigration law,” Abbott said.

    “Anyone engaging in acts of violence or damaging property will be arrested and held accountable to the full extent of the law.”

    The state has “strategically positioned” more than 5,000 Texas National Guard soldiers to “bolster state and local law enforcement response to any criminal activity,” and more than 2,000 DPS troopers, including Special Agents and Texas Rangers, are deployed “to respond to potential criminal or violent activity” at the protests, according to the governor……

    And, ICYMI, it happened again 10 days later at Jackson State. It wasn't the Guard that killed those students in MS, it was State Police mowing down those protesters this time.

    I'd think I did miss that. What happened is when Kent State happened I was where there was a TV, I was living in a city for a while, at a university there my mother was attending for a bit. By ten days later I was in a car traveling across the USA to go back to where there was no TV. That was the year when our towns old TV translator, the antenna thing which beamed us TV from a mountain top into that rural valley had gone broke, that was the year of no TV until a new group formed, and raised money to buy a new translator for the mountain top.
