It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

inappropiate for a student but the forking principal????
    =====================================

A middle school principal in Maine dressed up as an ICE agent for Halloween has sparked a fight as members of the community express outrage.

At the same time, the Trump administration’s Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs of Homeland Security, Tricia McLaughlin, has described the anger as “insane”.

An image of James Black, principal of Mt. Blue Middle School in the Farmington community, began circulating online on Halloween. The educator is wearing a cap with ICE written across it, an American flag-style gaiter, and a vest that reads “Police ICE.”

Advocacy and mutual aid organisation Project Relief Maine shared the photo on its Facebook page, encouraging community members to contact the superintendent’s office to express their concerns and take action. Some people in the comments call for Black to resign.

“For immigrant students who already live in fear of ICE, this isn’t funny. It’s terrifying. Deportation isn’t a costume. It’s not a joke. It’s trauma ... imagine being a child walking into class and seeing your principal treat your family’s pain like entertainment,” the post stated.

“Millions of immigrants live with fear every single day in this country. They shouldn’t have to face that fear in their own schools too.”

In a statement to The Independent, McLaughlin said the public anger was out of proportion.

"This is insane. Since when is it controversial to dress up as a law enforcement officer for Halloween? Calls for this principal's firing because he dressed up as a law enforcement officer for Halloween reveal the true derangement of those who oppose ICE law enforcement,” she said.

"To most Americans our brave ICE law enforcement are heroes. These officers put their lives on the line every day to arrest the worst of the worst including murderers, pedophiles, rapists, gang members, and terrorists. They should be celebrated and revered.

“I know the media might find it hard to believe but many people admire our law enforcement--its why ICE received more than 175,000 applications from patriotic Americans who want to help make America safe again."...............

A lot of folks publicly taking off their white hoods and robes. In the long run, it's a very good thing when the snakes come out of the grass. Everyone else, grab a metaphorical shillelagh and get ready.

The recent death of a Costa Rican man who was jailed by US immigration authorities in February before being deported in a vegetative state in September has prompted his family and supporters to speak out with allegations of negligence and inhumane treatment.

Nonetheless, a spokesperson for Donald Trump’s administration – which has aimed to deport as many people as possible from the US since his second presidency started in January – maintained in a statement that the medical treatment Randall Alberto Gamboa Esquivel received before his death is better than many immigrants “have received in their entire lives”.

The statement from assistant homeland security secretary Tricia McLaughlin said that Gamboa “illegally reentered the US – a felony – in December 2024”. Citing information from Gamboa’s family, the Spanish-language news outlet El País reported that he had embarked for the US in search of work, and the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested him in Texas in February.

Gamboa, 52, initially was held at Texas’s Webb county detention center before being transferred to another facility in the state in Port Isabel. His family said to El País that he called them daily – until he seemingly disappeared without immediate explanation in June……..

A photo of U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert at a Halloween party has drawn criticism over the Colorado congresswoman’s Mexican-themed costume, which included a sombrero, a dress and a sign that made light of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.

The photo was circulated on social media over the weekend. The Republican is dressed in what appears to be a traditional Mexican outfit, of sorts, and is holding a sign with a message that uses a racist play on words invoking a stereotyped Mexican accent.

The sign reads: “Mexican Word of the Day: Juicy. Tell me if juicy ICE coming,” an apparent pun on “Tell me if you see ICE coming.” ICE is an acronym for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Standing near her in the photo is a man dressed as an ICE agent.

The costume drew condemnation from Latino advocacy groups in Colorado.

“She should be ashamed of herself,” said Stacy Suniga, the president of the Latino Coalition of Weld County. “Though I believe she is incapable of any emotion that generates human decency. Her bigotry and ignorance are clearly evident in her chosen apparel this day.”……..

Boebert has generated headlines before for charged commentary and personal behavior that has proven embarrassing — enough to where she apologized for her words and actions.

Not this time. When asked about the Halloween photo, Boebert said through a spokesperson that “it’s a Halloween costume.”…….

State Sen. Julie Gonzales, co-chair of the Colorado Democratic Latino Caucus, called on Boebert to apologize and said she “should know that our culture is not a costume and being bilingual is an asset, not a joke.”

“The Latino Caucus was made aware of the photo on Saturday and members were outraged,” Gonzales wrote to The Post on Monday. “We immediately began conversations within our caucus of how we wanted to respond. … Congresswoman Boebert chose to mock our community, co-opt our culture, and make a sick joke while immigrant Coloradans with lawful immigration status in her own district, such as fifth-grade teacher Marina Ortiz, are being detained by ICE after doing everything that has been asked of them.”……

Well, to be honest, Lauren has her hands full.

    I’ll see myself out.

Masked, heavily armed federal immigration agents arrested a US citizen in the parking lot of a Los Angeles Home Depot store, then entered his car and drove away with his toddler, who is also a US citizen, in the backseat.

The child’s grandmother said the incident had left the whole family shaken. “I am devastated by what has happened to my son and demand an explanation,” she said at a press conference on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old father was picked up during a major enforcement operation at the Home Depot in LA’s Cypress Park neighborhood on Tuesday morning. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), five undocumented immigrants were also arrested.

Later that morning, Maria Avalos, the 32-year-old’s mother, got a call from an unidentified number. It was agents with the US Border Patrol, asking her to come pick up her one-year-old granddaughter.

“We didn’t know what happened to her while she was in their care, and they wouldn’t give us information about when my son would be released or where he was,” Avalos said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Avalos said she still has not been able to speak to her son to find out where he is being held. The incident was captured on video and first reportedby the Los Angeles Times.…..
