It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

The White House has used the resurging viral "100 men and one gorilla debate" to publicize President Donald Trump's record on immigration.

A White House-branded meme shared Thursday on its official X page featured an image of several immigrants boarding a plane, paired with a photo of the president in the foreground. It plays on the subject of a long-standing debate about whether a gorilla could be defeated by 100 men.

"100 men vs 1 gorilla is still up for debate. Meanwhile, 142,000+ illegal alien criminals went up against 1 President Trump—They all got deported," the post reads........

Trump Is Quietly Using The U.S. Military In A Whole New Way

President Donald Trump is using a bizarre legal loophole to allow the military to perform domestic law enforcement activity on U.S. soil, an escalation of his already ultra-aggressive immigration and border security policies.
The Trump administration declared last month that chunks of land directly alongside the U.S.-Mexico border are now actually long, thin military installations — and that soldiers guarding those bases can detain and search trespassers before handing them over to law enforcement.
The military is usually barred from carrying out civil law enforcement work due to the Posse Comitatus Act, which was signed in 1878. But the law does have exceptions — including something known as the “military purpose doctrine,” which allows military activity on U.S. soil as long as it primarily furthers military function. The idea behind Trump’s new guidance is that soldiers are protecting military installations from trespassers, not technically enforcing immigration law or guarding the border.https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-border-roosevelt-reservation-national-defense-area_n_6815262ae4b0c553a15ccad7

Oh, and I saw a TikTok from a graphic designer type who said - please quit saying that photograph of Abrego Garcia’s hand was Photoshopped when it was clearly done in Microsoft Word.

MADISON, S.D. (AP) — Dakota State University hasn't experienced the student protests taking place at other U.S. colleges. Nestled in rural South Dakota, most of the nearly 4,000 students have been focused on their studies or job hunts, avoiding politics and partisan groups.

    Until now.

The university administration decided to award an honorary doctorate to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and invited her to give a commencement speech May 10, bringing politics to the campus.

In response, students have planned a rally on graduation day opposing the former South Dakota governor and the Trump administration and expect protestors from across southeast South Dakota to join them.

They want to speak out against the federal government’s immigration policies, which are being implemented with Noem's oversight, on behalf of peers who fear for their legal status. They also are expected to protest Noem's anti-LGBT actions during her time as governor.

Some students and faculty also said they thought the honorary degree was too high an honor to bestow upon her.

Among DSU students, many are unsure if they should join the objections or stay quiet to avoid the kind of punishments suffered by students at more outspoken colleges............

Donald Trump’s administration is promising $1,000 to undocumented immigrants to voluntarily leave the country, but only “good people” and “industrious people that could love our country” will be allowed to return, according to the president.…….

Okay, without reading the details on it, I don’t hate this idea.

It sure beats tearing families apart and deporting people who are contributing members of our society which is what he has been doing.

Edit: upon reading it of course it has issues. First - I wouldn’t trust Trump’s word on anything. Second - there are statutory long waiting periods for people to apply to come back, at least 3 years and up to 10. Third - this admin has shown they are not competent to screen anyone, as seen by them calling ordinary people gang members.
