I think Trump's Project 2025 needs it's own thread to make as many people as possible aware of it, how Trump and the people he's surrounded himself with are dead serious about making it happen, and how devastating it will be if we allow Trump to make it happen. These are the various pages on his website which should show Trump means business. Trump's not just wishing or theorizing, he's planning and implementing.

Trump and his minion's home page (the bolding is their's, not mine):

"It is not enough for conservatives to win elections. If we are going to rescue the country from the grip of the radical Left, we need both a governing agenda and the right people in place, ready to carry this agenda out on Day One of the next conservative Administration.
This is the goal of the 2025 Presidential Transition Project. The project will build on four pillars that will, collectively, pave the way for an effective conservative Administration."

    Trump's policy agenda page:

"This book is an invitation for you the reader—Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith, and Ms. Smith—to come to Washington or support those who can. Our goal is to assemble an army of aligned, vetted, trained, and prepared conservatives to go to work on Day One to deconstruct the Administrative State.
    ...
The next conservative President will enter office on January 20, 2025, with a simple choice: greatness or failure. It will be a daunting test, but no more so than every other generation of Americans has faced and passed. The Conservative Promise represents the best effort of the conservative movement in 2023—and the next conservative President’s last opportunity to save our republic."

Trump's personnel (recruitment/application) page, bolding is mine:

"Please fill out the questionnaire below and upload your resume for inclusion in the Presidential Personnel Database if you would like to be considered for positions in a presidential Administration.
Project 2025 is the effort of a massive coalition of conservative organizations that have come together to ensure a successful Administration begins in January 2025. With the right conservative policy recommendations and properly vetted and trained personnel to implement them, we will take back our government. Project 2025 is being organized by The Heritage Foundation."

    Trump's training page:

"The Presidential Administration Academy is a one-of-a-kind educational and skill-building program designed to prepare and equip future political appointees now to be ready on Day One of the next conservative Administration. This academy provides aspiring appointees with the insight, background knowledge, and expertise in governance to immediately begin rolling back destructive policy and advancing conservative ideas in the federal government."

Trump's first 180 days playbook page:

"The time is short, and conservatives need a plan. The project will create a playbook of actions to be taken in the first 180 days of the new Administration to bring quick relief to Americans suffering from the Left’s devastating policies."

Trump's playbook, bolding mine (I've downloaded the pdf of their playbook for when Trump eventually pulls it from his website once the backlash really kicks in):

"This book is an invitation for you the reader—Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith, and Ms. Smith—to come to Washington or support those who can. Our goal is to assemble an army of aligned, vetted, trained, and prepared conservatives to go to work on Day One to deconstruct the Administrative State.
    ...
This is an agenda prepared by and for conservatives who will be ready on Day One of the next Administration to save our country. The Heritage Foundation is once again facilitating this work, but as our dozens of partners and hundreds of authors will attest, this book is the work of the entire conservative movement.
    ...
The next conservative President will enter office on January 20, 2025 ... The Conservative Promise represents the best effort of the conservative movement in 2023—and the next conservative President’s last opportunity to save our republic."

The link to the 111 groups Trump and his minions have cobbled together in a coalition to help Trump achieve his agenda.

    Groups include:
    • ALEC - the Koch brother's foundation that has written all of the state laws that undermine child labor protection, worker's rights, air and water pollution protections, voter's rights, government assistance programs from those that need the help, and tax codes that made sure the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes.
    • Moms For Liberty - the group leading the charge to ban any book that treats anyone, who is not white, heterosexual, cis and Christian, as being equal and deserving of acceptance, tolerance and respect.
    • National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation - which works for corporations to prevent and bust worker's unions to help corporations pay a non living wage to employees and force them to work under horrible conditions.
    • Tea Party Patriots - the group that is MAGA and has taken control of the Republican party and supports Trump's efforts to stage a coup on Jan 6th so that he could stay in power even though he lost the election.
    • Turning Point USA - run by Charlie Kirk who fully embraces Christian Nationalism and the reducing of women to just being homemakers dedicated only to serving their husbands and their family, in that order

Here are some articles and videos that give an overview of what Trump's Project 2025 plans to do if Trump wins the presidency:

The Heritage Foundation cooked up this plan during the Reagan administration, but Reagan didn't let the Heritage Foundation fully implement it. Trump has claimed it for himself and has made it his plan, because it plays into the ultimate power and control that Trump wants. See the videos below.

No matter how annoying, frustrating, distasteful, or unappealing it may be, either Biden or Trump will be the next president. No one else has a chance at winning the election. If Biden wins, we have issues to solve, but we still have our democracy.

If Trump wins, we lose our democracy and have to fight for our freedom, if we aren't white, Christian, cis, heterosexual men who believe in the divine right of white, Christian, cis, heterosexual men to sit in domination over all others.

The bottom line is this, vote for Biden if you want to preserve our democracy, or don't vote for Biden if you want to chance Trump winning, which would bring an end to our democracy.

That's the grounded-in-reality choice folks, like it or not. Please vote for Biden so that we all have the freedom to live our lives how we want, to argue with each other, and to protest without fear of being imprisoned or "falling" out of window to our death.

This election is not a drill, it's the real deal.

Sendai's post has a morsel of truth to it. But it is cherry picked and framed to give a misleading impression of Trump's project 2025 plan.

Notice the goal post moving and shifting defenses. First it was "not a serious plan at all." Then it was "not Trump's plan at all." Now it's "Trump can't do it without Congress anyhow."

I've shown in just my one post above that all of what Trump plans to do, he can do without Congress. I'm not going to quote the whole 900+ pages to show everyone what I've already proven to be true with several quotes.

Don't let Sendai mislead you into believing that anything about Trump's Project 2025 plan is business as usual. Sendai wouldn't be posting his arse off if it was just business as usual. Sendai wouldn't be posting his arse off if Trump and they honestly believed it was no big deal. Trump and his minions know this is Trump's plan, they know he can and will do it if he wins, and they know that if Americans know what they know, Trump loses. That's why Trump's minions are desperately trying to fool people into believing it's not big deal. They're hoping they can pull off a Sith mind trick on Americans.

I’ll take them at their word; from the threats of violence to the planned Christofascist takeover of our government.

Starting to feel like there be a thinly veiled Da Vinci Code style religious/political thriller written about all this
    =====================================================================

Kevin Roberts, the Heritage Foundation president and the architect of Project 2025, the conservative thinktank’s road map for a second Trump presidency, has close ties and receives regular spiritual guidance from an Opus Dei-led center in Washington DC, a hub of activity for the radical and secretive Catholic group.

Roberts acknowledged in a speech last September that – for years – he has visited the Catholic Information Center, a K Street institution headed by an Opus Dei priest and incorporated by the archdiocese of Washington, on a weekly basis for mass and “formation”, or religious guidance. Opus Dei also organizes monthly retreats at the CIC.

In the speech – which he delivered at the CIC and was recorded and is available online – Roberts spoke candidly about his strategy for achieving extreme policy goals that he supports but are out of step with the views of a majority of Americans.

Outlawing birth control is the “hardest” political battle facing conservatives in the future, the 50-year-old political strategist said, but he urged conservatives to pursue even small legislative victories – what he called “radical incrementalism” – to advance their most rightwing policy objectives.

Roberts gained notoriety this year as the leading force behind Project 2025, a foundation plan backed by more than 100 conservative groups that seeks to radically upend a broad range of policies if Trump gets elected again, from limiting abortion access and LGBTQ+ rights and dismantling the Department of Education, to ending diversity programs and increasing government support for “fertility awareness” programs, like ovulation tracking and practicing periodic abstinence, instead of more reliable contraception.

But Roberts’ personal ties to Opus Dei and the significance of his affiliation, has received far less attention.

Gareth Gore, the author of a forthcoming book on Opus Dei, called the Catholic organization “a political project shrouded in a veil of spirituality”. The group’s founder, Saint Josemaría Escrivá, saw his followers as part of a “rising militia”, Gore said, who were seeking to “enter battle against the enemies of Christ”.

“Like Project 2025, Opus Dei at its core is a reactionary stand against the progressive drift of society,” Gore said. “For decades now, the organization has thrown its resources at penetrating Washington’s political and legal elite – and finally seems to have succeeded through its close association with men like Kevin Roberts and Leonard Leo.”............

I was waiting for someone to bring up Opus Dei. It's a far right fascist organization operating under the cover of the Vatican and Catholic church. Shortly after it was founded in Spain in the early 1900's, Spanish right wing fascists co-opted it to serve their fascists agenda. Pope Francis has been trying to rein in Opus Dei for the past few years, because they have shown who they are to everyone in the world.

The Heritage Foundation and Federalists Society both get their marching orders from Leonard Leo who is Opus Dei to the hilt and is a modern day master at co-opting groups to serve their right wing fascist agenda. Leo already has co-opted the Supreme Court.

Trump has opened the door to them and given them a big old bear hug to co-opt the Executive branch if Trump wins. Trump's Project 2025 is their plan to use the Executive branch of government to serve their right wing fascists agenda. If Trump wins, that gives them complete control over both the Executive and Judicial branches of government. Congress will be toothless and meaningless at that point.

ProPublica has a piece about a charity who is aiming to influence the 2024 election in violation of the law for 501(c) charities. Ziklag is supported by some of the wealthiest Christian families, owners of ULine supply co., Hobby Lobby, and Jockey. Maybe this is part of what Roberts is talking about when he talks about how they have already won.

“Ziklag’s 2024 agenda reads like the work of a political organization. It plans to pour money into mobilizing voters in Arizona who are “sympathetic to Republicans” in order to secure “10,640 additional unique votes” — almost the exact margin of President Joe Biden’s win there in 2020. The group also intends to use controversial AI software to enable mass challenges to the eligibility of hundreds of thousands of voters in competitive states.

In a recording of a 2023 internal strategy discussion, a Ziklag official stressed that the objective was the same in other swing states. “The goal is to win,” the official said. “If 75,000 people wins the White House, then how do we get 150,000 people so we make sure we win?”

According to the Ziklag files, the group has divided its 2024 activities into three different operations targeting voters in battleground states: Checkmate, focused on funding so-called election integrity groups; Steeplechase, concentrated on using churches and pastors to get out the vote; and Watchtower, aimed at galvanizing voters around the issues of “parental rights” and opposition to transgender rights and policies supporting health care for trans people.”

Maybe he’s talking about stuff like this when he says they have already won?

Hopefully these are efforts that people like Marc Elias can successfully challenge.

We have to destroy all of the insidious roots that MAGA has put down. That is a daunting fight. We’ve talked about it, but they have played the long game, establishing a very dangerous influence across religion, media, and politics.

Time for a lot of investigations and executive orders from Biden to counteract all of the dirty tricks.

Trump and his minions say they have it won, but they aren't talking about the election and Electoral College votes. They're going to try to do the same thing they tried in 2020. They are going to try to create enough chaos to justify forcing the choosing of the president into the hands of the House of Representatives. That's their plan A on winning. They want to bypass the election altogether and let the Republicans in the House pick Trump.

Wouldnt that be the new house and not the current one?

That's a good point. I thought the new Congress was sworn in after Jan 6th, but they are actually sworn in on Jan, 3rd. You are correct, it would be the newly elected House that would vote for the president if the Electoral College doesn't have a clear winner.

Biden needs to start protecting the House races to make sure there's no dirty tricks happening with them.

The way the vote is set up, if I am understanding it correctly, will still likely favor Rs. Each state delegation has one vote and that is cast by simple majority of that state’s representatives.

Yeah that's correct. I also forgot that it's one vote per state.

Trump not being the sitting president puts him and The Heritage Foundation at a disadvantage to pull off a non-violent coup. Trump and the Republicans will probably challenge Harris certifying the vote if she wins the election, even though George H W Bush certified his own victory.

CNN) — Paul Dans has stepped down as director of Project 2025, the conservative playbook for a potential second Donald Trump term, amid intense criticism, including from the former president.

Dans’ departure was confirmed in a statement to CNN by Dr. Kevin Roberts, the president of the Heritage Foundation, the group that launched Project 2025. Before joining Heritage to lead the project, Dans served as a top official in Trump’s White House.

“Under Paul Dans’ leadership, Project 2025 has completed exactly what it set out to do: bringing together over 110 leading conservative organizations to create a unified conservative vision, motivated to devolve power from the unelected administrative state, and returning it to the people,” Roberts said. “This tool was built for any future administration to use.”……..

Boy are they backpedaling. Trump’s name is all over their document, or it originally was, I read they are going back and doing editing on the fly to try to cover their tracks.

Nobody is fooled by this. That “tool” was specifically built for Trump, and he would use it too. He just won’t get the chance.

The two Trump staffers who issued this statement are the Trump “wranglers”, the pros that are trying to run a “normal” campaign. They are desperate to distance Trump from the document. But he’s all over it. Nobody should believe them for a minute. Pure political spin.

And, as someone on Twitter just pointed out:

“Nothing says “I have ‘nothing to do with’ Project 2025’s terrifying retributive agenda” like ending your statement with “it will not end well for you.” Good lord.”

"It will not end well for you." :smilielol:

They always have to throw in a threat. These people can't help themselves from taking on Trump's mob boss persona.
