The VP debate between Pence and Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris is slated for Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT) at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

The debate will run for 90 minutes and comprise nine 10-minute segments with no commercial breaks. Susan Page, USA Today's Washington bureau chief, will moderate. Pence and Harris will be seated for the debate and positioned 12 feet apart.

He’s not answered a single question yet, he is going well over his time limits and he is interrupting, just not in as obnoxious a way as Trump

Agree. Harris sounds like she might cry or yell any moment. Harris blew the first response by not calling out Pence for answering the 2.5x more than Canada question.

Yea, she is really trying to hit one note too often without adding much. Pence is holding serve pretty well, but I have no idea how people generally will see his dispassionate demeanour.

Pence: Yeah, 35 people got Covid there but 65 didn’t, so, what’s the big deal?

I get the whole attack on Covid approach but she needs to talk more about the current state of the outbreak and where we’re going. Talking over and over about stuff that happened in January and February isn’t effective after a point.

No, he hasn't. But in debates, I never really expect that to happen. It's more about optics than content and I think Trump helped him.

By making such an arse out of himself, Trump lowered the bar for Pence so that he doesn't actually have to do much.

The strongest debate strategy is not to try to persuade people in 2 minute intervals over 90 minutes. People have short attention spans and memories, the debates aren't as important as the advertising blitzes running right up to the day of the election.

Which is why the key to the debate is getting stronger material for future ads. Pence may be winning the battle of the debate, but what he's saying is going to cost them more of a loss on the advertising front.

The debates are the set up for the more influential advertising blitzes.

All of these moments that Harris missed tonight will be hammered with advertising. So the question after this is over is who will get hammered the hardest over the next few weeks?

paint dances around these questions like he’s a ballet dancer

Much like Joe, Kamala seems unprepared for the things they knew full well he’d say. Both of them are doing a poor job actually answering questions.
