Thought we should start thread here - over weekend, US carried out strikes against Houthi elements in Yemen in retaliation for their actions in Red Sea.

This morning Trump took to Truth Social:



So any missile/shot fired from Houthi elements in Yemen will be considered coming from Iran. Obviously this is wrought with problems, but we know Houthis will respond and continue attacks.

So then what does this mean for Iran? Lots to unpack, but seems to me that the NO WAR POTUS is hell bent on getting into yet ANOTHER conflict in the ME. He is backing himself into a corner with statements and we could find ourselves embroiled in ME conflict again.

The republicans in congress spend TWO YEARS investigating Hunter and found NO evidence of self dealing despite they tried - even went as far as doctoring text messages!

Jared on the other hand recieved billions investments to his new privately owned company TWO WEEKS after leaving his job as special envoy to Saudi Arabia and after he got the sactions lifted on the Saudi Crown prince who was the man behind the murder of a US citizent!

So no.. There are NO comparison despite your continuing attempt to claim so!

A congressional investigation is not the same as a thorough investigation by special counsel. I will also remind you that had it not been for whistleblowers Hunter would have walked on tax evasion. I’ll also remind you he pled guilty and was later pardoned by POTUS. Lastly, according to whistleblowers they were prevented from doing a full investigation.

The issues with Biden and the family business was a concern during the Obama administration. I have yet to hear a reasonable explanation for why payments from foreign interests were laundered thru 20 plus shell companies only to end up in Biden Family bank accounts. But you go ahead and ignore that as if it isn’t suspicious at all.

But the bottom line is this. Unless and until you are ready and willing to hold both sides to the same standard, there really isn’t anything to discuss. Simply stating that one side is better than the other is no excuse for bad behavior or unethical or immoral behavior by either side.

There is tons of corruption in our system. Folks go to DC as middle income and leave a few years later as multi-millionaires. Congressmen, Senators, staffers and members of the executive branch. You aren’t going to solve that problem by selective enforcement of some undefined ethical standard that varies depending on which party controls the levers of power.

So I am and have been tired of talking about it. No one here is really serious about solving the problem. So carry on with your bitchin.

Jared has been appointed to the government by Trump. He is soliciting money for his fund from the nations he is supposed to be negotiating with. He is supposed to be acting in an official capacity of the US government, yet he is still trying to do deals with other countries.

Trump has sold pardons to some extremely depraved individuals. He has directed the DOJ to prosecute his perceived enemies whether they actually have a case or not. He uses lawsuits to extort money from universities, law firms, and corporations. He accepts money from foreign governments through his crypto schemes, he demolished 1/3 of the White House with no prior notice nor permits, his departments are ignoring multiple court orders, he inserted himself into a corporate merger and picked the winner.

I’m sure I’m forgetting some other impeachable offenses. Yet, you cannot bring yourself to say he deserves to be impeached. You cannot bring yourself to acknowledge that he is far more corrupt than any other president in the past 100 years.

The tax issue was already settled before his prosecution, he had admitted it when he got off drugs, and paid the back taxes and the fines. In that situation, it isn’t normal to prosecute.

In fact, during the Biden presidency Roger Stone committed the exact same tax crime, was found out, paid the tax and fines and wasn’t prosecuted. Which is the normal course for these things.

But you are proving our point exactly. You are holding this out as some huge deal because it was Hunter. And you say NOTHING about Trump. Except for namby pamby oh I don’t approve and only when you get called on your hypocrisy.
