Thought we should start thread here - over weekend, US carried out strikes against Houthi elements in Yemen in retaliation for their actions in Red Sea.

Houthi leader issued this statement- no US ships in Red Sea

Houthis then attempted to strike US Carrier group

This morning Trump took to Truth Social:

So any missile/shot fired from Houthi elements in Yemen will be considered coming from Iran. Obviously this is wrought with problems, but we know Houthis will respond and continue attacks.

So then what does this mean for Iran? Lots to unpack, but seems to me that the NO WAR POTUS is hell bent on getting into yet ANOTHER conflict in the ME. He is backing himself into a corner with statements and we could find ourselves embroiled in ME conflict again.

You know, the more and more they go on with this, the more I believe they are trying to hide something. I believe that trump and his minions at Defense Dept. went against intelligence reports that stated such an attack would not be as effective as they would like.

These clowns immediately stated the targets were "obliterated" without any battle damage assessments taken. That type of statement was based off of wishful thinking and that's why Caine's briefing was highlighted with the MOP's testing reel. They have completely shut out any input from the entire Intelligence Community. Why? Is it because their recommendations were ignored...AGAIN?

Which coincides with the "look strong" tactic they wanted to put forth- which is why IT HAS to be obliterated.

Nothing from this administration is the truth. Nothing. Purposefully. They dont care that you doubt THEM, because they want you to doubt EVERYTHING from anyone else. Thats the purpose of the lies.

First term, we had folks around him that would tell the truth. This term? they are all on board. Thats what makes this term so much more dangerous.

Just think about this whole US/Iran thing.

I started this thread back in March after Trump gave Iran an ultimatum to May 5/6. We moved B2s to Diego Garcia late April. We issued a NOTAM for first week of May.

Then nothing. I suspect he was talked out of it.

Then Israel struck. and again and again and again. Not losing ONE aircraft over 11 days. Trump couldnt allow Israel 100% of the accolades and he went back to tell his planners to do something since they werent 100% certain the first time they could pull off.

And even with clear skies, we simply dont have the ordinance to flatten a mountain that doesnt contain nuclear material.

This whole administration is performative. It is for optics. Nothing more.

This exchange after the thread Chuck listed above is absolutely chilling. We are being led by extremely stupid people who have no idea what they are doing. They are talking about the likelihood in the future of Iran easily starting up their program again and that the response from Israel and the US will be more bombing.

Iran has been sneaking, without intelligence detection, drones and missiles to Russia across the Caspian sea. I have no doubt that Putin would let Iran sneak what they need across the Caspian sea to set up a small refining lab and warhead manufacturing lab on Russia's Caspian sea shore. Even Trump isn't brave or stupid enough to bomb Russian territory.

I found this on the EE's thread:

The Guardian revealed last Wednesday that top political appointees at the Pentagon had been briefed at the start of Trump’s second term that the 30,000lb “bunker buster” GBU-57 bombs meant to be used on Fordow would not completely destroy the facility.
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jun/23/why-iran-nuclear-programme-essential-to-its-identity
In that briefing, in January, officials were told by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency at the Pentagon that developed the GBU-57 that the bombs would not penetrate deep enough underground and only a tactical nuclear weapon would wipe out Fordow.

No surprise. This is the same guy who went against the weather service projections and drew another hurricane path with a sharpie

He’s such a bad liar too. Just inept.

“The United States obtained intercepted communication between senior Iranian officials discussing this month’s military strikes on Iran’s nuclear program and remarking that the attack was less devastating than they had expected, said four people familiar with the classified intelligence circulating within the U.S. government.

The communication, intended to be private, included Iranian government officials speculating as to why the strikes directed by President Donald Trump were not as destructive and extensive as they anticipated, these people said. Like some others, they spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence.”

    More from the above article.

“Critics of Trump’s decision to use military force argue that he scuttled the chance of a diplomatic resolution, which is the only way of establishing an intrusive inspection regime to restrict and monitor Iran’s nuclear program. Tehran may also be more inclined to race toward a bomb as an insurance policy against any future regime change efforts by Washington or Jerusalem.1st

Before the U.S. attack, the U.S. intelligence community concluded that Iran had not yet decided to build a nuclear bomb but was working on pathways to speed up the process if it chose to construct one, U.S. officials have said.

U.S. officials counter that Trump’s strikes don’t preclude a diplomatic agreement and could improve the chances of one. On Wednesday, Trump announced that U.S. and Iranian officials would meet this week to discuss a potential nuclear deal, but Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, quickly denied that any meeting would occur.

Araghchi has said the impacts of the U.S. strike “were not little” and that Iranian authorities were determining the new realities of the country’s nuclear program, which would inform Tehran’s diplomatic outlook.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said Trump “exaggerated” the results of his strikes. “They attacked our nuclear facilities,” he said, “but they were unable to do anything important.””

Not just any airbase either, Al Udeid is the hub of all of CENTCOM operations in the region. It housed/transported multi-national forces and authored Air Tasking Orders.
Remember this administration's comments about the Iranian retaliation?

All I can remember of that dome is that it was as secured as the flightline and that it was a critical component of the Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC).
