Thought we should start thread here - over weekend, US carried out strikes against Houthi elements in Yemen in retaliation for their actions in Red Sea.

Houthi leader issued this statement- no US ships in Red Sea

Houthis then attempted to strike US Carrier group

This morning Trump took to Truth Social:

So any missile/shot fired from Houthi elements in Yemen will be considered coming from Iran. Obviously this is wrought with problems, but we know Houthis will respond and continue attacks.

So then what does this mean for Iran? Lots to unpack, but seems to me that the NO WAR POTUS is hell bent on getting into yet ANOTHER conflict in the ME. He is backing himself into a corner with statements and we could find ourselves embroiled in ME conflict again.

And don't forget that the US/UK government was behind the removal of the first democratically elected Iranian government. (Iran’s democratically elected prime minister, Mohammad Mossadegh) and installed the shah instead. The history is very similar to Venezuela. Mossadegh nationalized the countrys oil companies and threw out US and UK companies who had been exploiting Iran for decades. Sound familiar ?

so now almost every western country has advised its citizens to depart Iran immediately.

US military assets are leaving Al Udeid Air Base for past 12 hrs ( 3 more just left- KC 135 Stratotankers )

    next up will be NOTAM.

gotta think next 24-48 hrs something will happen.
Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea should all be on high alert if the US attacks Iran. It would be the perfect moment for them to try to expand their control of the Asian Pacific.

So @Dragon, on a different topic, what do you think of this video?

I really don't care about what a couple of iranian influencers think about Palestine. If that is your souce well then that is on you. I care for what the UN and official observers say and what I can see with my own eyes.

You didn't say Israel and neither did I.
You asked why the "left wants to free Palestinians." Free them from who? Yeah, Israel. Such a dishonest and cowardly statement and attempt to defend your statement. Republicans and all of you who support them are just very loud cowards.

Another typical bratty response from a Republican supporter. "I don't want to talk about what you and everyone else is talking about, I want you all to talk about what I want you to talk about."

Y'all are authoritarian in everything you do. Y'all always demand that everyone do what you want them to do.

Sounds like a significant number of Iranians have had enough. The regime IMO is dangerous not only to Iranians but also to its neighbors as they sponsor terrorism throughout the region. So while I have no desire to go to war with Iran, I do believe we need to be supportive where possible to the Iranian people who oppose that regime. I also have no issue with targeted military operations designed to prevent the Iranian government from obtaining weapons of mass destruction nor do I have a problem with sanctions that starve that government of the resources they use to sponsor terrorism in the region. I believe eventually they will collapse under the pressure. Good riddance.
I have issues with targeted military operations to prevent them from that which they can do whether we object or not. Those operations appear to me after I've seen a lifetime of them tried, that they never work as planed. They might even have a reverse acting effect such that plans like that might hasten that which they are intended to eradicate once what happens next has happened.

It's kind of silly to try to block Iran from having a nuclear program. Iran is where Uranium ore is intermingled with their top soil. I grew up where the background radioactivity was high when compared to other places, Iran has insofar as I know the highest rate of naturally occurring radioactivity on Earth much worse than where I grew up.

Not that their aren't quite a few places on Earth where Uranium ore can be readily found in the soil.

She is Iranian . We are not.

    Trump ain't gonna do diddly.

Attacking Iran would throw the world oil supply into chaos. Immediate price hikes that would, in turn, cause gas prices to spike.

The one lone hook he keeps hanging his "affordability " hat on.

He destroys that, and mid terms become untenable for Republicans.

Greatly respects that instead of hanging them, they will remain in custody, tortured, til they die.

Wonder what other country fits this description.... 🤔
I strongly do NOT support President Trump who says "We need Greenland. We can do it the easy way or the hard way". What the heck!? The US government has no right to tell the people of Greenland or Denmark that they must give to Trump what he says we "need". Truly outrageous!
