Thought we should start thread here - over weekend, US carried out strikes against Houthi elements in Yemen in retaliation for their actions in Red Sea.

Houthi leader issued this statement- no US ships in Red Sea

Houthis then attempted to strike US Carrier group

This morning Trump took to Truth Social:

So any missile/shot fired from Houthi elements in Yemen will be considered coming from Iran. Obviously this is wrought with problems, but we know Houthis will respond and continue attacks.

So then what does this mean for Iran? Lots to unpack, but seems to me that the NO WAR POTUS is hell bent on getting into yet ANOTHER conflict in the ME. He is backing himself into a corner with statements and we could find ourselves embroiled in ME conflict again.

Oh joy. So there may now be instances of flying blind...

eerily similar which now has me wondering if legit quotes.
I know last week, market analysis didnt see a long war. I think folks are now waking up to the realization that Iran holds tremendous leverage (the strait) and there isnt much that can be done about it. How many combat ready troops do we have there? 20k? 30? It is suicide to send them into Iran. I saw some post about how these maga envision a great sacrifice like iwo jima. Because whatever they are peddling is worth it. These people have zero respect for our servicemen' lives. I'm so sick and tired of the fake jingoism. Trump thinks they are suckers...and it shows.

They are desperately attempting to paint this conflict with that brush.

But the problem is - we were never attacked. Period. Japan pulled off Pearl Harbor which galvanized the US.

Here, we got " they were going to. 2 weeks. nuclear " but none of that ever materialized and US intel said, in front of Congress, they disagreed with that assessment. Keeping in mind, in June 2025, we supposedly obliterated their capability for a decade.

The American public is no longer going off of "it was possible" in order to support a massive, costly and deadly war AGAIN in the ME. Just wont.

And that is reflected in polling.

Also desperate to get someone to pay for the war. He’s lighting about $1B a day on fire the way it is.

that would be anti- semetic

The 2028 race is going to be interesting. I honestly don't think the base is feeling Israel at all. I personally think it's one of at least 3 reasons why Kamala Harris running again in 2028 is doomed.

The longer this war continues, the more involved we become and remain there, the more death and destruction caused on all sides, ALONG with the economic pressures here domestically, the worse off Israel will be.

i said on EE, when this is over and the real story comes out that the US was goaded into this war by Israel and its "less-than-stellar" intel, it will have massive repercussions for the US/Israel relationship.

We have already learned US intel community did NOT agree with assessments and said as much to this Administration.

Don't worry Admiral, we still have 15 of them, and they are all too old. Besides they had too much room in them and the air force naturally filled that empty space with too many personnel. Sometimes too may cooks is worse than too few. The Air Force is adopting the Navy's smaller more usable platform for doing the same job for now. The NAVY E-2 Hawkeye.

AI, Gemini Overview:

E-2 Hawkeye Replaces USAF E-3 Sentry, E-7 Cancelled In New ...The US Navy aircraft that performs the same airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) mission as the USAF E-3 Sentry is the Northrop Grumman E-2D Advanced Hawkeye. While the E-3 is a large, jet-powered airframe, the E-2D is a smaller, propeller-driven aircraft designed to operate from aircraft carriers.

Key Comparisons and Roles:

Mission: Both aircraft provide situational awareness, battle management, surveillance, and target tracking for friendly forces.
E-2D Advantages: As a carrier-based platform, it operates closer to maritime battlespace and uses the advanced APY-9 radar, providing crucial theater surveillance.

E-3 Sentry: Primarily used by the USAF for larger-scale regional monitoring with more crew stations and higher altitude operation.

Due to the aging E-3 fleet, the US Air Force has increasingly turned to the Navy's E-2D Hawkeye as a critical, readily available replacement.
