    The football board had the very useful Daily Trump Tracker thread, which was a good place to briefly discuss the latest ridiculous thing that might have ended 97% of prior Presidential administrations even if it didn't necessarily justify an entire thread devoted to it in 2017-2019 (because of the sheer volume of these things). Since I don't see anything like that here already, I'll add one myself.

    .......Four years ago, early in the morning after the presidential election, I had a conversation with my son Mateo.

    Trump had won the presidency and Mateo, just 8, had followed the results in anguish. It didn’t surprise me.

    For months, he had heard Trump sneer at immigrants, boasting of the erection of a border wall to separate Mateo’s native Mexico and the United States, my son’s adoptive country.

    Mateo was quiet as he sat across the table. I asked him how he felt. “I don’t understand how so many people could vote for such a bad man,” he said. “That’s democracy,” I answered.

    He then stood up and walked around the kitchen. He came back after a couple of minutes and stood next to me. “Well, daddy,” he said. “At least I don’t look Mexican.”............


     
    Just heard Maggie Haberman talk and said one of Trump's main worries is losing and SDNY. Privately he is really concerned.

    Which brings me to desperate people will attempt desperate things.

    Not saying he will do something egregious, but if his concern is real, it's gotta be considered.

    The odd thing is I don't think they are as damaged as he is.

    • Ivanka actually seems like your run of the mill socialite, but she seems to have something that is not a Trump family trait: empathy.
    • Eric just seems lost and insecure.
    • Don Jr. seems like the kid begging for Daddy's love. He's the kid who runs in the game-winning touchdown, looks up in the stands and Dad isn't there.
    • Tiffany is voted "Most Likely to Write a Tell-All Book About What an Awful Human Her Father Is." I picture her and Mary texting each other a few times a day gossiping about him.

    None of them seem as narcissistic, cruel, egotistical, and frankly, emotionally broken, as their Dad. Fred Trump must have been a real piece of work.

    I loooooooooooove those sketches. Those two on weekend update are guaranteed to get me to crack up. Adding Tiffany to the group a cople weeks ago kicked it up a notch.

    he was told in 2015 on the Howard Stern show not to run for President simply because you will put everything you built at risk ( Howard was saying basically regardless of how you got there ). Not only has he put his entire family at risk but now dragging firms that have operated for ages a certain way into the fray.
