Ferguson said in a news release on Monday that the state’s January application for assistance was denied in a letter he received on Friday. The state's application had met all of the criteria necessary to qualify, he said.

That's been Republicans goal with the whole of government since Regan uttered the words, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: 'I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.'"
The destruction of our government is Republican's goal. Until voters start understanding and acknowledging that and the media frames its view of Republicans correctly, we're trapped in an unrelenting death spiral as a country. We need a government that works for that people, and that the people have a modicum of trust in with healthy dose of skepticism (i.e. trust but verify). What we have now is a government that nobody can trust and that is acting maliciously.
