It’s also a great data harvesting gigYeah it’s worth 1.7 billion. Sure….. why do I feel this is another Trump cash in and declare bankruptcy shell game?
Lol, they’re using the wrong flag.
edited: that’s a parody account. Evidently they didn’t think to grab that Twitter handle.
Competition can never be a bad thing, I hope whatever legal trouble its going to inevitably face can be overcame. I'm at least curious as to how this will go. Google had their fair share of failures, like Google+ nobody used it and they had to eventually tie it to youtube down the road. Twitter has a huge problem with letting misinformation flow, they have a huge bot astroturfing problem in many popular hashtags where articles loaded with misinformation are constantly spammed. Microsoft epically failed with their Mixer streaming platform despite investing huge sums of money and paying and having to buyout contracts of Tyler Blevins(Ninja) and Shroud when they were paid to stream exclusively there.
Misinformation on a grand level is unfortunately something all these networks have to deal with and have done a crap job at combating. Lets not pretend it doesn't happen on these competing platforms and it'll more than likely happen here but its not "exclusive" just because of who's launching this particular platform. If you guys think the conspiracy levels on this platform will be really bad? You should have seen how stupid it got on twitter with #BrianLaundrie. Twitter is loaded with conspiracy theories, so is tiktok and other platforms.
I actually think there’s a fairly likely possibility that this is simply another grift from Trump. I read he is actively soliciting donations from his faithful to support this launch. They have evidently used open source software, which is free.Competition can never be a bad thing, I hope whatever legal trouble its going to inevitably face can be overcame.
