    I guess it's time to start a thread for this. We know that at least 140 members of Congress have pledged to join the objection. Under federal law, if at least one member of each house (HOR and Senate) objects, each house will adjourn the joint session for their own session (limited at two hours) to take up the objection. If both houses pass a resolution objecting to the EC result, further action can take place. If both houses do not (i.e. if one or neither passes a resolution), the objection is powerless and the college result is certified.

    Clearly this is political theater as we know such a resolution will not pass the House, and there's good reason to think it wouldn't pass the Senate either (with or without the two senators from Georgia). The January 6 joint session is traditionally a ceremonial one. This one will not be.

    Many traditional pillars of Republican support have condemned the plan as futile and damaging. Certainly the Trump loyalists don't care - and many are likely doing it for fundraising purposes or to carry weight with the fraction of their constituencies that think this is a good idea.

    So, a good number of arrests by the DOJ being reported by this guy. Not familiar with him, but he's apparently a CNBC correspondent. This is a thread below the first tweet.

    Steve Scalise made an appearance on one of the Sunday political shows where he was hesitant to speak truthfully about the election, and the riots at the Capitol. Which brings me to this article.

    This article is before Jan 6th but brings up an interesting point

    how did schools talk and teach about all of this?

    for the parents on the board how did your kids school handle the fraud claims and the capitol siege?
    ==========================

    ...........In a recent EdWeek Research Center survey, the majority of teachers, 86 percent, said they had not addressed Trump’s claims about voter fraud with students.

    When asked why not, most said that it wasn’t directly related to their subject, or that their students were too young to understand it. But a number also worried about community reaction: 18 percent said that addressing the topic could lead to complaints from parents, and 14 percent said that they feared being accused of indoctrinating students.

    Teachers are “partnering with families to help [students] develop an understanding of reality,” said Richie. When parents are pushing back on established facts, that can be a “hard tightrope” to walk, she said.

    In recent weeks—as state election officials repeatedly confirmed the integrity of the presidential election and the head of the General Services Administration formally recognized the results, starting the transition process—teachers say that questions about election-related disinformation have died down somewhat...........

    Disinformation has been rampant for years in the main stream media.

    So, is anyone apprised by this? I would be shocked if Greene had participated herself had she not been required to be in the House chamber at that time.

    "We're not pulling his product due to his actions or comments but due to lack of demand for his product"

    is that lack of demand due to his actions and comments?
    ===================================================================

    Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, has claimed more than 20 retailers have now pulled his products from sale, during wider comments on "cancel culture" at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

    Lindell, a prominent Donald Trump supporter, has been heavily criticized for backing the former president's baseless claims of widespread election fraud and calling for martial law to be imposed in the wake of the deadly insurrection at the Capitol on January 6.

    Speaking to conservative pro-Trump YouTube channel Right Side Broadcasting at the conference in Orlando, Lindell discussed the backlash he has received in the past due to his support of Trump, as well as before and after November's election.

    "Now is something I've never seen before in history," Lindell told Right Side Broadcasting host Liz Willis. "I mean, over 20 retailers have dropped MyPillow."

    A number of stores have announced that they have pulled MyPillow items for sale in recent weeks. However, retailers such as Bed Bath & Beyond said this was due to lack of demand, rather than a direct result of Lindell's actions...................

    Marjorie Taylor Greene, the conspiracist Republican representative who has been condemned for her role in stoking the Capitol riot and stripped from her committee assignments, has progressed from shirtposting online to literal shirtposting in the halls of Congress. Yesterday, Greene decided to send a despicable message to her colleague Marie Newman of Illinois, whose office is across from hers, by hanging up a bigoted poster in the hallway: “There are TWO genders: Male & Female. Trust The Science!,” it read. “Thought we’d put up our [poster] so she can look at it every time she opens her door,” Greene wrote on Twitter. Newman’s daughter is trans.
