    Going back to Reagan, I think Clinton was the only one with a complicated marital relationship (before Trump) - and that was because Bill was a habitual cheater. Ron and Nancy Reagan were notorious love-birds. I think George and Barbara had a rock solid relationship, in sort of a mature, patriarch/matriarch way. George W. credited Laura with saving him and it seemed that they were very fond of each other. And clearly Barack and Michelle regularly display what appears to be a strong, loving relationship.

    Let's be honest, Donald Trump has such a deeply flawed personality, it's not surprising that he has relationship troubles. True NPD cases (Trump's case screams NPD) typically have difficulty achieving fulfilled longterm romantic/partner relationships.
     
    Trump attended this game because it was in a deep red state with two teams with red state fanbases who were playing each other on national tv. He knew the cheers would drown out the boos. He has a history of attending events where he knows he will be cheered and avoiding events where he will be jeered. He has thankfully avoided the Kennedy Center awards since in office, I think some performers and indeed some honorees would boycott the awards.

    I have many legitimate beefs with Trump, attending a football game for political reasons is not among them. All presidents use the office to elevate their political status. I have zero issue with this. This is true even though I was among the thousands who attended the game and who were inconvenienced by the additional security measures. It took an extra hour to get in.

    I have great respect for the office of the presidency and regardless of my differences with politics, in my lifetime I would have been honored to have any president come to New Orleans and I would stand, applaud and give anyone of them, from Kennedy to Reagan to Bush to Clinton a standing ovation.

    I was not among those standing and cheering for Trump. I didn’t boo either, just had my own quiet protest I am sure none noticed. And it nothing to with his politics. It was about him. He is a rude and boorish man who insults people for a living. No one is spared, he has a not so clever belittling nickname for anyone who dares to cross him whether it be a gold star parent, his former attorney or Secretary of State, his first attorney general, a child fighting for our environment, the mentally disabled, women, his democratic opponents and his own party opponents. He particularly likes to mock people’s appearance as being short or overweight or whatever.

    It’s out of my respect for the office of the presidency I was not among those who clapped for Trump. And I suppose someone could say it’s because I’m a liberal or a snowflake or whatever. But for whatever it is worth, Trump is the only president in my lifetime I would not have appreciated being at the game. Don’t get me wrong, I like presidents (and quarterbacks) who are tough and fighters. But you’ll never convince me being rude and calling people names makes you a tough guy. It makes you a bully. And it’s beneath the dignity of the office.
     
    I wish everyone who is so glib and throws around the “you just hate Trump because you’re a lib” posters here would read this post and acknowledge the truth of this. Bravo, dude!

    Trump is a toxic malignant narcissist. He bullies everyone, but especially those who he has some sort of advantage over. He never ”punches up” he only “punches down”. This speaks to cowardice. The worst sort of person is someone who exploits another’s weakness for no reason other than the ability to do so, or at least that was how I was raised.

    There have been politicians of every stripe that I have respected and admired over the years, heck, right now I admire Justin Amash for his political courage in standing up to this bully, even though it may cost him. He knows right from wrong and is willing to do what is right even in the face of the threat that Trump poses to him.

    Why is it that this comes across as someone who is desperately trying to portray their hate for our president by imagining that the FLOTUS hates her husband?

    She certainly doesn't act like she wants him touching her whenever he puts his hands on her. Not much is left to the imagination.

    Maybe that is their love language. They enjoy the thrill of the chase, the playing hard to get, teasing each other in public and then when they are alone, her snuggled up to him on the couch as they sip wine and talk about their day in front of a warm fire before a night of sweet passionate love making. That just as possible, no?

    I really don't give a shirt about any of this, but I'd go with that being the lesser of the possibilities with what we know with him cheating with pornstars and playmates and stuff.

    yeah, no, lol. Once I found out my husband had cheated on me with a porn star while I was recovering from childbirth, well, let’s just say I get why she doesn’t want to touch him. Also, I believe he has publicly announced that once women give birth he just can’t have sexual relations with them anymore. He’s a real peach, that one.

    Three wives and publicly cheated on all of them. She doesn’t love him, I would bet a lot on that.

    But she has a child with him and they appear to be happy. The truth is that none of us have a clue about their relationship and people saying she hates him are just being very biased because of political views. It’s really a childish approach to say anything either way so I am guilty of it as well.

    Its just totally feasible to me that she is merely tolerating his presence at this point, and just as believable that there are times her skin crawls when he touches her.
