Oh, but he's only joking - well, maybe, so they say. Or sort of joking with Canada, and maybe not joking with Greenland - saying that "ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity" doesn't sound like a joke . . . and um, not sure about what the about Panama Canal thing is?

    75 million people aren’t delusional.

No they are not.. some are ill-informed, some dont care and some are morons.. we are seeing the results of education budget cuts over the last few decades , and we are seeing them in real time.. and if me pointing out the obvious is “omg exactly why Trump won !!11!!!”.. well then i guess the truth hurts .

Not agreeing with you is not defending Trump. As far as this notion of moral superiority, you get a gold star. Keep telling yourself that. But the problem is you didn’t convince the voters. 75 million people aren’t delusional.
Why do you think you can assert things like "Trump's starting a conversation," when he's clearly not just doing that at all, and "the people who voted for Trump did so for rational and totally not delusional reasons" while simultaneously repeatedly arguing that you're not defending Trump? You're very obviously defending him.

And people clearly did vote for him for irrational reasons, including reasons that could be reasonably described as delusional given they held views about Trump in spite of incontrovertible evidence to the contrary. See Arab Americans For Trump for example. Oh, wait, they're Arab Americans for Peace now, because they supported Trump in spite of the overwhelming evidence he wasn't going to be an ally to their causes. Because they were, literally and at this point completely unarguably, deluded.

I’m all for more focus on education. I am willing to pay more to improve it. But Republican and Democratic administrations haven’t solved that problem. We’ve been talking about it for 40 years.

I don’t know why people didn’t vote for Biden/Harris. I don’t think the are ill informed or morons or delusional. The why is something Democrats need to figure out. I don’t think calling the other voters delusional or stupid is a winning strategy. It offers nothing.

This is all in response to your running the "It was a joke" defense for the guy.

It was the third "change" election in a row. It was Americans getting hammered at the pump and grocery store, even though the US was doing better in regard to inflation than any other nation around the world. Also, it's simply due to a decade long, orchestrated, politically driven misinformation campaign by Fox and other conservative outlets to drive their base to the polls. It's made the worst President in our nation's history, a despicable human being, a felon, a man found liable for rape, a two-time winner. Me and my conservative friends laugh when I say I would love to have W back as President. I would disagree with him on most issues, but I would not think for a moment he was a bad man.

What happened to speaking the truth? Suddenly when it comes to Trump voters we can't do that? Sometimes people need to be told they're ill informed or morons or delusional and that they made a morinic choice. Otherwise, they will continue to make the same type of choices. We need American voters to be smarter and vote better or else you get unelected robber barons like Elon trying to take over the government. There is no reality in the multiverse where Trump was the right answer in the last election. Full stop!

I would agree with most of that. I do believe that there were misinformation campaigns on both sides. There is no unbiased reporting anymore.

I would prefer W back to what we have had lately.

You’ve said many times that you didn’t vote for Trump

You’ve said many times that you feel Trump is unfit for office

Based on what Trump has done so far do you still feel he’s unfit?

    Most of us do

Most of us have reacted with anger, sadness, disbelief and outrage at what he’s done

    You have not

Ok. So you think Trumps voters are delusional. I get it.
Who do you think really won the 2020 election, Joe?

Why are you unable to admit that people who think there was massive fraud, and that Trump won in 2020 are objectively delusional? And that they make up the majority of GOP voters?

The delusional thinking of a majority of GOP voters isn’t an opinion, Joe, it’s objective fact.

Why do you ignore that? You wouldn’t ignore it if it were Dem voters, I don’t think.

I haven’t changed my mind on Trump.

I don’t agree with everything he has done. I don’t disagree with everything either. I’m not quite as emotionally invested in Trump as you.

I think Biden won. I never said otherwise. I thought Trump should have conceded when the last state certified.

No election is perfect. I see no evidence of fraud that would have changed outcomes. That said, whenever rules are changed last minute one should expect such claims. I think everyone should be able to have confidence in our election system.

You are welcome to your opinion on GOP voters. I don’t share it. But such is life. I accept the fact that reasonable people can disagree. Maybe that’s delusional?

Yeah, if you’re a Palestinian or an USAID or Dept of Education employee and voted for Trump what are you thinking right about now?
They're all complete dumbasses if they're surprised at what Trump is doing now. They've been talking about this for years. Now that they control much of the government, they're doing what they want for the most part.

Well put, I have a fishing buddy that claimed he was voting for neither candidate back when it was Trump and Biden, I casually asked why, he simply said Trump isn't the answer and Bidenomics......so I asked what about Bidenomics and he said inflation.....and I said do you realize that inflation is a global occurrence and the US was actually not as bad as a lot of other countries (I also cited a few examples)? And he said we just need to move on from Biden......a non answer......I don't know who he voted for but I do know now that he definitely watches Fox news....
