The Trump Cabinet and key post thread (4 Viewers)

Just checked - he's got 76.6 million to her 74.1 he's up over 2.5 million votes.

Even if you gave her every third party vote, she still loses.

Even worse - Trump got 2.5 million more votes than he got against Biden. After 1/6. After convictions. After impeachments. And on and on.

He did better than he had ever done.

So for now, I'm living up here in my Liberal utopia watching the rest burn until he sends Blackwater pretending to be National Guard back in.

Yeah, those are the right numbers; I glitched on the math.

I know there was reporting in recent days that he'd fallen below 50%, not that it really matter since he won, regardless.

CNN’s Harry Enten reports that Trump is now under 50 percent for the popular vote, and his margin is the forty-fourth worst out of 51 presidential elections since 1824.

Quarreling over exact numbers isn't really the point, though. About half of voters didn't vote for him and don't deserve whatever is coming. But we all understand that elections have consequences. I'm too angry to care about whatever suffering awaits his supporters but I'm heartbroken for everybody who understood the dangers he poses and voted for Harris.

I might be more indiscriminate about it all, too, if I was living in a "liberal utopia" but instead, my state's government is busy killing pregnant women and demolishing barriers to state-sponsored Christianity. I'm already living America's future and if the flimsy remnants of our guardrails completely fail, that's ALL of America's future.

I mean, more people voted for this than didn't. It wasn't particularly close.

So it is what people wanted. So let them have it.

As a 25 year sober recovering addict and a 14 year sober recovering alcoholic the one thing I can tell you is, you have to hit your rock bottom before you can recover.
Hell yeah brother. Keep it up. Hit two years here on 11/11. It’s not easy but the grass is greener than where I came from.

This is where I am as well. I don’t see MAGA politicians stopping at all - they will not respect any blue state’s laws if they can figure out a way to usurp them.

With the understanding that Republican's never actually cared about state's rights, they only ever cared about whichever side of that argument upholds whatever power they wield at any given time.

I think Republicans and Congress gave him a choice either stay in it and let the report come out or drop out

*Shocked Face*

He was never a serious pick for AG... I'm sure he'll be put up for a lower level cabinet position that doesn't require confirmation - This was always about him avoiding the ethics report.. which may (and should - IMO) happen anyway.

I'll add that I doubt the report gets released now (maybe leaked).... My best guess is that there is plenty of proof that he paid hookers and had weird sex parties, and no hard evidence of him being with an underage girl, or participating in sex traffic activities... If there were, I am sure the DOJ would have charged him on that evidence.

The former is enough to keep him from being AG - But if we disqualify every politician from holding any office based on paying hookers and participating in sex parties... Who are we ever gonna get to run for anything? LOL

could this be a bait and switch move?

"Let me nominate this god awful pick who doesn't have a snowball's chance of getting confirmed so the less terrible (but still terrible) replacement pick sails through because he/she looks so much better in comparison"

a person who might not get confirmed if they were the initial pick right off the bat
still wonder if this was the plan all along

Elon won’t take OMB, it’s too clerical and not glam enough for him - plus it requires work. He will be some special assistant to the president and head of some task force that will meet and have some big headlines but not actually do shirt.

I think OMB will go to Russell Vought. He was OMB at the end of the last Trump administration and he’s involved with Project 2025 components that have to do with restructuring the federal government . For example, There are about 4k political appointees. Vought wants to make it 20k

This is now confirmed

Here’s my Matt Gaetz question.

He resigned his seat, leaving it vacant. According to the law, vacancies have to be filled by a special election.

But…

He won his election, and that term starts in January. Since he withdrew his name, can he still take his seat in January?
