Saw an alert from the WSJ that Trump is considering dropping Hegseth for…wait for it…Ron DeathSantis.

President-elect Donald Trump has tapped fellow convicted criminal Peter Navarro to serve as his Senior Counselor for Trade and Manufacturing.

"I am pleased to announce that Peter Navarro, a man who was treated horribly by the Deep State, or whatever else you would like to call it, will serve as my Senior Counselor for Trade and Manufacturing," Trump wrote on Truth Social, highlighting that in his first term Navarro helped him "renegotiate unfair Trade Deals like NAFTA and the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (KORUS), and moved every one of my Tariff and Trade actions FAST."

In a separate post, Trump wrote that "the Senior Counselor position leverages Peter's broad range of White House experience, while harnessing his extensive Policy analytic and Media skills." Navarro is a frequent guest on Fox News, Trump's favorite propaganda channel. "His mission will be to help successfully advance and communicate the Trump Manufacturing, Tariff, and Trade Agendas."

Navarro would become the second convicted criminal tapped to serve in Trump's incoming administration. On Tuesday, the president-elect announced that he had selected Charles Kusher - the father of his son-in-law Jared Kushner - to serve as U.S. Ambassador to France. In 2005, Kushner Sr. was convicted of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering and sentenced to two years in prison. A generous donor to Trump's 2016 campaign, he was pardoned by Trump in 2020...........

so how many billionaires is that now?
    ========================

A billionaire entrepreneur who led the first flight of an all-private crew of astronauts, and became the first civilian to walk in space earlier this year, has been nominated by Donald Trump to be the next leader of Nasa.

If confirmed by the Senate, Jared Isaacman, also an experienced jet pilot with his own display team, will guide the space agency at a pivotal moment in its 76-year history as it moves closer to returning humans to the moon for the first time since 1972 and sending the first crews to Mars.

The 41-year-old founder of the commercial aerospace defense company Draken International said in a tweet he was “honored” to receive Trump’s nomination, and would be “grateful” to serve.

“Having been fortunate to see our amazing planet from space, I am passionate about America leading the most incredible adventure in human history,” he wrote.

“On my last mission to space, my crew and I traveled farther from Earth than anyone in over half a century. I can confidently say this second space age has only just begun.

“Space holds unparalleled potential for breakthroughs in manufacturing, biotechnology, mining, and perhaps even pathways to new sources of energy. There will inevitably be a thriving space economy … that will create opportunities for countless people to live and work in space. At Nasa we will passionately pursue these possibilities and usher in an era where humanity becomes a true spacefaring civilization.”............

The guy knows nothing. Sure, send a crew to Mars and bring them home. That is all well and good. There will never be a Mars colony in several lifetimes at least. The logistics including psychological and sociological issues will prevent it. Along with a host of other things.

The think tank behind Project 2025, the conservative blueprint linked to President-elect Donald Trump, is launching an effort to back Trump's imperiled selection for secretary of defense in its latest attempt to wield influence in the incoming Republican administration.

Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts said Thursday that his group will spend $1 million to pressure senators unwilling to back Pete Hegseth, whose nomination to lead the Pentagon has come into question due to his views on women serving in combat and reports about his personal behavior.

A number of Republican senators have declined to commit to backing Hegseth or have asked for more information about his drinking and treatment of women.

"It'll be messaging right now with their constituents about how out of step they are with the Trump agenda," Roberts said in an interview, who argued that criticism of Hegseth was being driven by "the establishment."

Roberts' announcement that he will support Hegseth is the latest sign that Project 2025, which Trump disavowed amid Democratic criticism during his campaign, is newly ascendant as Trump returns to the White House. The president-elect has picked several of its authors and contributors to key positions.………

An associate of MAGA loyalist Ric Grenellapproached conservative social media influencers last month and offered them contracts worth thousands of dollars to post approvingly about Grenell as he attempted to get President-elect Donald Trump to nominate him for secretary of state, according to Politico.

Even before the election, Grenell – who served in Trump’s first administration as the ambassador to Germany and acting director of national intelligence – made it clear privately that he wanted to become Trump’s secretary of state.

One source told Politico that Grenell informed Trump’s inner circle it was State “or bust” for him.

Following Trump’s victory and with Grenell actively lobbying for the position, a flurry of social media activity from prominent right-wing accounts suddenly began advocating for the incoming president to choose Grenell for secretary of state.

One contract that was obtained by Politico from Grenell’s associate called for the influencer to promote Grenell during “peak posting times,” adding that the “content must appear genuine” and should not suggest that it is “an overt advertisement or promotional message.”

According to sources who spoke to Politico, the contracts for the social media campaign were worth up to five figures.…….

Tommy Tuberville, a Donald Trump loyalist, said it wasn’t the “job” of Senate Republicans to vet the president-elect’s cabinet nominations as debate around Pete Hegseth’s position continues.

The GOP senator told CNN on Thursday that, in his opinion, it is up to Democrats to vet nominations, and that members of his own party should be inclined to automatically confirm them.

“Who’s to say we’re a better vetter and picker of people than Donald Trump?” Tuberville told CNN on Thursday.

Tuberville’s confident assertion arrives amid a contentious moment for several of the president-elect’s cabinet picks – notably Hegseth, the defense secretary nominee currently fighting accusations of sexual misconduct and heavy drinking in work environments.……..

The media has it all wrong about Trump’s picks for his administration. The conventional view is they’re “Trump loyalists” whom Trump “recruited”.

    Rubbish.

First, they’re not loyalists; they’re subservient hacks.

    There’s a crucial difference.

All politicians want their underlings to be loyal, but Trump wants them to be more loyal to him than to the nation, and he demands total subservience without regard to right or wrong.

For the FBI, Trump has picked Kash Patel, who has pledged to prosecute Trump’s political opponents and “come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens who helped Joe Biden rig the presidential election”.

Trump’s selection for attorney general, Pam Bondi, has said that when Trump returns to power, “the prosecutors will be prosecuted”.

Moreover, Trump didn’t recruit these people or anybody else. They recruited him.

Every one of his nominees campaigned for these jobs by engaging in conspicuous displays of submission and flattery directed toward Trump.

Elise Stefanik, whom Trump has nominated to be US ambassador to the United Nations, repeatedly boasted that she was the first lawmaker to endorse Trump’s re-election bid.

Before Trump tapped Kristi Noem to head the Department of Homeland Security, she sent him a 4ft replica of Mount Rushmore with Trump’s face next to those of Washington, Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Lincoln.

Mike Waltz, whom Trump has picked for national security adviser, supported a move in Congress to rename Washington Dulles international airport the “Donald J Trump international airport”.

Lee Zeldin, whom Trump has picked for EPA administrator, said publicly that the criminal prosecutions of Trump were akin to Putin’s persecution of the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

Stephen Miller, who will be a Trump White House adviser, said during a Fox News interview that Trump is the “most stylish president” in our lifetimes. “Donald Trump is a style icon!”

Ten of Trump’s picks so far were Fox News hosts or contributors who repeatedly mouthed Trump’s lies about the 2020 election being stolen, about January 6 being a “peaceful protest” and about Biden being the force behind Trump’s prosecutions.

Some of Trump’s picks showed up at his criminal trial in Manhattan, where they verbally attacked members of the presiding judge’s family on behalf of Trump, who was under a rule of silence.

Some picks appeared at his campaign rallies, expanding on Trump’s lies and lavishing him with praise.

Many made large donations to Trump’s campaign. Five of his picks so far are billionaires.

All knew that Trump wanted people who would do whatever he asked of them. So they prostrated themselves to show their deference to him.

All knew that Trump liked to be fawned over. So they debased themselves by giving him gushing compliments.……..

Donald Trump has tapped a podcaster to be his artificial intelligence and crypto czar, marking the latest Elon Musk ally to be picked for the president-elect’s next administration.

David Sacks, host of the All-In podcast and former Paypal chief, has been nominated for the newly-created role as AI and crypto regulation are “critical” areas for the incoming commander-in-chief.…..
