In honor of RFK, Jr's selection...

That’s quote is quite incomplete. Fortunately we can hear the complete response. Like the 6% of federal workers back at work. Real opportunity to achieve savings. Why in Washington DC and not around the country.

    Ya know, options.

I think any objective measure would realize that people working from home is more efficient than paying for a building and electricity, and dealing with the personnel issues that come up from being in person. At least for the vast majority of jobs, including government jobs.

So his example of how they’re going to “dismantle the federal bureaucracy” is reducing office space because most of the federal workforce remains on a telework status after the pandemic?

It’s a pretty lame example - I don’t think reducing a bunch of federal buildings is really dismantling bureaucracy. What are they gonna do - rent them out? It’s not really a demand market these days.

AFox News host who lobbied Donald Trump to pardon troops accused of war crimes and doesn’t want women serving in combat could be leading the nation’s military.

An accused sexual predator who has taken up Trump’s promise to destroy his political rivals could be the nation’s top law enforcement officer.

A prolific conspiracy theorist who doesn’t hold a single medical or public health degree but plans to immediately halt vaccine development could be in charge of the nation’s health agencies.

An Evangelical preacher who espouses end-times theology and has said “there’s no such thing as a Palestinian” could be the nation’s ambassador to Israel.

A former congresswoman who secretly met with Syria’s Bashar al-Assad and has blamed US and NATO for Russia’s assault in Ukraine could direct the nation’s intelligence.

The world’s wealthiest man will recommend drastic cuts to the government’s budget in a made-up “efficiency” agency.

Two of his attorneys who helped him get off criminal charges have been nominated for top roles at the Department of Justice.

Trump’s first wave of cabinet nominations and White House appointments, within the week after he won the 2024 presidential election, have stunned members of Congress, veterans and active-duty service members, public health advocates and democratic advocates, who have warned for years that he is building a government of loyalists to fulfill his campaign-trail promises to deliver “retribution” by destroying the “deep state.”……

That might be what he’s saying: we can cut building costs by keeping them on telework but that’s hardly a long overdue idea to ‘dismantle the bureaucracy.’ It’s certainly true but that’s not what the Trump/Elon agenda is really after.

What is the other place and what happened? I’m curious.

Andrus does a great job with this site. It is a small community, but there are some very smart posters. I always learn things here. I trust many of the posters here.

Back to regularly scheduled programs. How will the intel agencies hide from Tulsi, particularly if they have evidence on her connections to nefarious operators?
Another message board with about a dozen active users. That's where I met Sam and learned about this site.

After the election, the owner of the other forum made it clear that only liberals were going to be allowed to stay and that everyone else would be banned.

A few of us said "ok" and left.

    Now, we're here.

    From CNN

President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday said that North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum will be announced Friday as his pick for secretary of the US Department of the Interior.

I’m sure that the GOP will fall in line and defend and justify (they always do) but for the moment I’m enjoying the stories of how aghast they supposedly are at these cabinet pics

    Quote I’ve always loved:

“Did you think you could call up the Devil and ask him to behave?”

When you engineer and enable the election of someone who’s said he intends to burn it all down you can’t be surprised when he proceeds to do exactly that
