Is there a trade deal with China? Is it really a deal or just a pull-back to status quo ante? Is Trump advancing US interests in this well-executed trade battle plan or was this poorly conceived from the start . . . and harmful?

I think the jury's still out, but I haven't seen that the Chinese are offering much in compromise - and it's not even clear if there's going to be an agreement. But it's clear they are working on something and I'm sure Trump will sell it as the greatest trade deal ever. The proof will be in the details.

Since the passage of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, more than $320bn has flowed mostly to Republican-held districts in the form of new clean energy development and electric car construction. A further $522bn in investment is in the pipeline but is now menaced by the Republican bill’s removal of tax incentives.

It's like watching a cheetah feast on its own body and face. The absolute self own of this. And not a peep from Republican voters.

Is it even legal to impose tariffs on a specific product?

And what would an American made iPhone cost?

    $3500

Forbes did a study and found if 100% made in US- $30-100k

Well, the obvious answer is that wages must crater and Trump gets to decide what Apple’s margins would be.😡 The guy is losing it completely. He has to be in dementia what with his rage tweeting in the wee hours.

And you never hear about his rapidly deteriorating mental capacity from the media. This week they were all talking about Biden when the Mad King sits on the throne and continues to destroy everything that made this country decent. And nothing from the people that voted him into office. Every forking day is exhausting with this guy.

I dont think its coincidence that Trump had his $1.5mm/plate CRYPTO dinner ( with list of attendees withheld ) last night and we wake up to multiple tariff posts from him on social media.

Someone(s) got in his ear last night.

Only 1500 more days to go

Unfair and unjust Lawsuits against american companies = Musk has complained to Trump about the billion $ lawsuit against him and X for breaking EU General Data Protection Regulation laws.

GDPR applies to any organization — regardless of location — that processes the personal data of people residing in the EU.
    Ongoing cases against X

X is under scrutiny for potential violations of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) due to its use of European users' public posts to train the Grok AI model.AP News
    • Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC): As X's European headquarters is in Dublin, the DPC is leading the EU investigation. The focus is on whether X lawfully processed publicly accessible posts from European users in accordance with GDPR. AP News
    • Complaints in Nine EU Countries: The European Centre for Digital Rights (NOYB) filed complaints in Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Poland. They allege that X unlawfully changed data settings to collect personal data from over 60 million EU users without proper consent.
    • 🇫🇷 France: Algorithmic Transparency and Privacy Concerns

French regulators are investigating X for potential breaches of GDPR and other regulations, focusing on how the platform's algorithms may amplify harmful content and whether they manipulate user data in ways that could violate user rights.

Under the GDPR, the fines can be:
    • Up to €20 million, or
    • 4% of global annual revenue (whichever is higher)
For X, with estimated revenues in the billions, this could mean hundreds of millions in fines per violation.

and no coincidence that BYD just surpassed Tesla for sales in EU ( EVs )

and thats WITH their EU imposed tariff on Chinese vehicles.

Musk has significantly damaged the Tesla brand in Europe, and the situation is likely to worsen. A large portion of Teslas on the road are leased company vehicles, and as those leases expire, most of the cars will return to Tesla. The brand is no longer seen as “politically correct,” and as a result, Teslas have lost much of their appeal as company cars. What was once a symbol of innovation is now becoming a liability for image-conscious businesses.
