Is there a trade deal with China? Is it really a deal or just a pull-back to status quo ante? Is Trump advancing US interests in this well-executed trade battle plan or was this poorly conceived from the start . . . and harmful?

I think the jury's still out, but I haven't seen that the Chinese are offering much in compromise - and it's not even clear if there's going to be an agreement. But it's clear they are working on something and I'm sure Trump will sell it as the greatest trade deal ever. The proof will be in the details.

I mean seriously, it's WINTER. This is when we rely most heavily on fruits, veggies, and other agricultural products from Mexico, Central and South America.
Can you imagine a SB without guacamole? The horror :hihi:
But, I think he just did this to get some concessions on the border and how either country can stop Fentanyl from getting into the US. While a worthy idea, it's probably a bit of a goose chase.

What concessions would those be? Troops? MX has had troops in border States forever, even more so now that the federal police became the national guard and then it was made part of SEDENA (MX DOD).

We have to be clear about one thing: the problem is not that fentanyl is being made, the problem is that fentanyl is being consumed. We can't forget that the U.S. has problems with drug addiction, even legal drug addiction through prescription pain killers and mood swingers... go to any of those ayahuasca retreats (or any such hallucinogen) and it's mostly 'Muricans, Canadians, and Europeans.

Like Dr. Vinny Boombatz says when you tell him that it hurts when you do this, "don't do that". If people stop consuming drugs, drugs will stop being supplied.

I agree with you. I just said 'goose chase'. Mostly because I was in a rush.

didn't say he got concessions. Just saying that was probably his motive. all show.
