Ok.. Got three of ya... May not spend much time, gonna head out soon.
Not True... You can NOT register a car for years.. and if it gets stolen it can be identified by Title. For example, Classic cars that don't do on the road. They can sit in a shop and not be registered. And still stolen.
Cuddle monkey
Is gas the equivalent of bullets here?
Yes.. You can;t buy any ammo, buy gun or sell gun, carry gun without license..
Thieves don't usually sell to honest people. They sell to people for cash and no paper trail.
Thats been my view all along... and the there are two people out there right now. Responsable gun, lawabiding. owners with concealed permit, and those that arn't. People are gonna obtain guns no matter what laws you make.. But. The enforcment to get the out of the hands of the wrong people is the key...
Your proposals do not make anyone safer or make guns any more difficult to obtain,
If you are not allowed to buy or sell a gun legally, and if you have to get an FBI check and fingerprints and photo just for a gun license to do so.. It will make obtaining a gun legally more difficult to obtain.
I don;t know how you can say that it won't.
Me too.I’d rather go down swinging with a guy like Pete, than with someone like Biden.
I watched a good portion of last night's debate. Bernie just has a combination of passion and authenticity that's unmatched by any of the other candidates.Me too.
But if we're swinging, why not take a big cut SWING with a candidate like Warren or Sanders, instead of someone who is just slightly more left than Biden? That's where I am -- gladly will vote for Buttigieg (and will vote for Biden, though not as gladly) but would be enthusiastically voting for Warren or Sanders.
This fails to address the fact that anyone with a license can buy the bullets, then resell them for a quick buck or have them stolen from their homes. Hell, you ignored the possibility that the person with the stolen gun is a licensed owner themselves. Since you keep comparing it to vehicles, I am willing to bet that most car thieves have a state issued driver's license. If you are not tying specific weapons and bullets to the gun license of the purchaser, you retain zero ability to track the weapons and ammunition used in crimes.
You see the contradiction, right?
You want to know how easy it is to get around your proposal?
Bob owns a gun store. Mark comes in to buy a gun. Mark has no license. Bob sells him a gun under the counter.
Since the individual gun is not registered, how can you prove Bob sold it to someone that doesn't have a license?
But that same reasoning means we shouldn't have ANY laws...bad guys are gonna get guns no matter what laws we make.
Those do not seem good analogies because when used in the gun debate the issue is about stopping an underlying crime. Not saying you don't have a point - but wouldn't a real analogy have to address something that, say, makes stealing easier, or perhaps even more analogous: something that allows a person to steal a great amount per use. And that THAT something is a thing that many people who are not thieves use?But that same reasoning means we shouldn't have ANY laws...
"Bad guys are gonna steal things no matter what laws we make."
"Bad guys are gonna cheat on their taxes no matter what laws we make."
"Bad guys are gonna do drugs no matter what laws we make."
Etc.
Bob just broke the law... same way you don't sell cigs to minors.
And you guys keep bring up stolen guns etc... right. So no new laws are gonna do anything.
Insurance is one of the worst racquets in the US.. I can tell ya this.. Me and millions of others will never support any laws, politicians or anything that will make us tell the government how many guns we have or to insure them. No forking way, no how... Can't even get reasonable homeowners or medical.
I try to give you guys common sense gun law proposals but the attitude is my way or no way...
But I love @cuddlemonkey . Replies... bad guys are gonna get guns no matter what laws we make.
Can you prove Bob broke the law? No. That means the law is ineffective. An ineffective law is worthless.
How the hell did I get in the middle of this?
An ineffective law is worthless.
Right... So instead of making new laws.. Lets enforce the ones that we have already.
Sure. We should absolutely do that. And if there is room to pass legislation that makes it easier to enforce or strengthen the laws already in place, we should consider that.
All I was discussing was your proposal, which you seem incapable of recognizing as severely flawed and unwilling to discuss regarding those flaws.
I was a Bernie supporter in 2016, and when Hillary won the nomination, I started supporting her, but I've recently heard some things from Bernie's past that worries me. Bernie will need to explain and possibly disavow some of his past beliefs, and that may hurt his authenticity in some people's eyes.I watched a good portion of last night's debate. Bernie just has a combination of passion and authenticity that's unmatched by any of the other candidates.
I had begun to consider Pete but it just seems pretty clear to me after watching last night that Bernie is best to run vs. Trump. At least with him you do know he'd go down fighting and that maybe he has the charisma to overcome the negatives that'll be thrown at him.
While it sounded like a poor attempt at humor, I have to ask what in the world a dog-faced pony soldier is in the first place? Even if it was suppose to be a joke, why does he seem to always call so many people liars?
