This probably needs its own thread, otherwise it will be subsumed into the Voting Thread - which should remain focused on what will likely be a very busy coming days on voting issues and legal challenges.

People are shooting each other over campaign yard signs:

And in DC, downtown building owners are boarding up in anticipation of unrest:

I was thinking about starting this thread last night. I have a feeling it will be much needed.

To be fair, that first tweet is about a confrontation regarding theft of signs... so, they thought someone was stealing their signs? They really didn't delve into the details there.

This is what happens when both sides are constantly telling/preaching/crying to there far-side extremist base of voters....

That.... "If we lose this election, life as you know it is over"!!!!!

Americans will always fight for their way of life, and for the long term safety of their families.... And the political idiots have successfully pitted each extreme side against one another - and have essentially told them - "this election is the fight for your way of life, your family's future, and the soul of this country".

What'd ya'll think was going to happen when that's the message?

I've been telling people for weeks that even though I want Biden to win, I think it's much safer in the short term if Trump wins, because Trump voters are the ones with all the guns.

Because, as I'll keep telling you until you figure it out, the problem is one side, not both sides.

That may have been the case in the past, but EVERYONE is armed now. Pretty scary.

BS... It's not one sided...

We have one party telling their base that the other side is a Marxists Socialists' Anti-American Globalist Organization funded by pedophiles and 1%ers.

And we have one party telling their base that the other side is an Absolutists Authoritarian Capitalist Nationalist Organization funded by White supremacists.

Ya'll need to take a look in the mirror and smell the BS that's being shoveled - even if it's your preferred BS.

And let's not act like everyone doesn't have guns... because that's hilarious based on the gun violence numbers in the Big Cities (where Biden voters are).

One of these positions is supported by evidence directly from the mouth of the president of the United States. The other is, quite frankly, bullshirt from low-information, uneducated, brainwashed white people.

They are both Horse manure - Both be perpetuated by the far ends of each party - and being successfully used to scare the shirt out of people - In order to separate and divide us, and farm our votes.

If you think poor uneducated white people are the only people being brain washed - then you have clearly not been paying attention - or being willfully blind to it.

Infoman, just because there are radical extremists on both sides doesn’t make both sides equally radical. To my way of thinking there’s only one side who is abandoning the founding principle of free and fair elections. There’s only one side actively trying to disenfranchise voters on a large scale.

You are saying they are equally bad, which just shows that you are biased against any hint of a problem from the radical left but are willing to excuse problems that the radical right is taking mainstream.

I'm sure there are plenty of upper middle-class white people who have also been brainwashed.

I'm still waiting for the example of supporters of Biden going out and trying to intimidate campaign workers and Trump voters at polls like what we are seeing here in Texas. I'm waiting for the examples of Biden voters shutting down interstates in the name of their candidate as we saw in Jersey. I'm waiting for the blatant cases of attempted voter suppression in the courts from the Biden campaign, like what we are seeing all around the country.

I know the "both sides" argument gives some people warm fuzzies, but it doesn't seem backed by the evidence in 2020.

I'm not here to convince you guys of anything... I know I won't. I really like some of the info provided here, and many posters' takes...

I realize that at this point there are a lot of people here that think their side can do no wrong, and that even if they do... it's nothing compared to the other side.

My opinion is... that's Horse Shirt... I'm not here to change your mind....

That's my take - Do with it as you will.

Which, here, always seems to be - Discredit, Call Bias, Whatabout, and generally ignore anything that doesn't fit nicely into your preconceived "box of how I believe".

If you guys want to have any real discussions here... you are going about it wrong.

Here's what I've been thinking lately.

I've hardly seen a single American flag flying these days. But I've seen a hell of a lot of Trump flags and Thin Blue Line-bastageized American flags.

One side is not pledging their allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America any longer.

One side still is.

OK, then show the examples. I think that's all anyone would like to see. If it's both sides, then show that, don't just say it. I'm open to being wrong here, but as a voracious consumer of information from a wide variety of sources and a guy that tries to look at things evenly, I just can't find the examples. Whenever I ask anyone (not just you) they scream "all the same, sheep!" and stomp off. If it's all the same showing some examples should be fairly easy I think.

You don't really want examples...

What good are specific examples if we can't acknowledge the high level core of the issue(s)? Both sides have been on a non-stop divide and conquer campaign filled with lies, labeling, fear and divisionary tactics in order to farm our votes...

If we can't at least acknowledge that.... then nothing I post will lead to any meaningful discussion... Just the same tired arguing.
