... To find out what papers I need to get Mexican green cards for my wife and son . The place was packed. A few 'Muricans, lots of Cubans, lots of Venezuelans, a few Salvadoreans, even one Indian.

The TV was set to a news channel, which, perhaps ironically, was showing the confrontations between Mexican riot police and a horde of people trying to breach the border from Guatemala into Chiapas, the first "caravan" of 2020, while the brand new National Guard was merely watching.

That segment was followed by the illustrious Mexican President, wearing 2 leis, a sarape, and holding a baton with color ribbons, boasting there are 4000 jobs in Chiapas and financial aid for Central Americans. Some indignant reporter shouted "what about jobs and financial aid for Mexicans?!?" After all, Chiapas is a poor State. The President was surprised by the question, he just replied "yeah, yeah" and went on with his tiresome populist message.

but seriously, i''m not sure what to do with this OP
You don't have to do anything. It is just an anecdote. In a couple months, though, if they are allowed to trek through Mexico, you'll probably have something to say about it. Hopefully you won't.

We’ve seen a pretty large increase in asylum claims from Venezuelans in the past year.

We’ve also seen a huge increase in Venezuelans claiming to be Cuban using fake documents.

I wonder how things are going in Colombia?

Do you know anything about how Colombia has been doing since Venezuela has began to collapse?

It got sporty today... this time the National Guard saw some action as rocks were thrown at them. Should've responded with bullets. The "caravan" is now threatening to charge into Mexico. Hopefully the Army brings the Hummers with the 50 cals they keep parading on 9/16

Might save everyone some trouble if we just call in air strikes in Guatemala to take them out before they can get their hands on dangerous rocks.

I tell you what: let me know where you are... I'll go throw rocks at you, and we'll see how dangerous rocks are... then I'll storm into your house, and demand you feed me, give me clothing, give me medicine, I may even bang your wife... then I'll bad mouth you when I leave.

Then you can tell me how you feel about it.

I don't know if you speak/read Spanish, but Milenio streams news from Mexico 24/7 on youtube. Then you wouldn't be puzzled by my comments.
Oh, I wasn't puzzled. I understand what you're saying completely. I thought it was funny and just really wanted to post one of the politician faces.

:biden1:

This one probably would have been more appropriate.

You seem overly focused on a small percentage of the migrants.

Imagine if all of us were lumped together with the worst of us.

I know... like how ALL republicans are "white nationalists" because they oppose the creeping malaise of Socialism. I am glad that you are capable of being objective.

Have you seen an example of me calling all republicans white nationalists?

What does socialism have to do with anything in this thread?

At least one of us is clearly not being objective.

it was in response to your broad brush comment. I was praising your objectivity that you yourself do not use that tactic.

Sam won't agree to any of that. I already asked him a couple of weekends ago.

hence my saying that i am glad that you dont use the "broad brush" tactic.

Sorry, I had assumed that it was sarcasm, then that your first explanation was also sarcasm, that says more about me than you.

Sorry.
