    Shouldn't bannon be in prison?
    ======================

Right-wing podcast host Steve Bannon called for a purging of people who are not Christian nationalists if Donald Trump wins a second term as president.

On his Monday War Room broadcast, Bannon celebrated author Tim Alberta's warnings about Christian nationalism on MSNBC.

"When you begin to think of America as almost this covenant nation, that God has ordained us, God has blessed us, and you are fighting for God by fighting for America, that is Christian nationalism, and that is what has infected much of the church today," Alberta told the hosts of Morning Joe.

"Sign me up," Bannon reacted. "I mean, I think this is the best recruiting pitch I've heard."

Bannon's guest, My Pillow CEO and election denier Mike Lindell, called Alberta's MSNBC appearance "amazing."

"A nation had turned its back on God, and God's given us grace right now for such a time as this for the greatest revival in history," Lindell said.

Bannon compared Trump to Roman dictator Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus.

"Trump's the American Cincinnatus has come back to fight all this," he remarked. "This is why they're trying to throw him in prison."

The War Room host vowed to play the clip of Alberta all day.

"He's saying the problem in the church — think about that — the problem we have in the church is people love the country too much. No, dude, that's not the problem," Bannon insisted. "That's the sick, twisted people that watch MSNBC that must be defeated so they no longer can infest the government of this country."...............

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) announced Tuesday that he would lift his blanket hold on military promotions, ending a nearly 10-month standoff over a Biden administration abortion policy that made the former football coach the target of bipartisan ire.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate in a single stroke Tuesday approved about 425 military promotions after Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama ended a monthlong blockade of nominations over his opposition to a Pentagon abortion policy.

Tuberville had been under pressure from members of both sides of the political aisle to end his holds as senators complained about the toll it was taking on service members and their families, and on military readiness.

“Thank God, these military officers will now get the promotion they so rightfully earned,” said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

The action came hours after Tuberville said Tuesday he’s “not going to hold the promotions of these people any longer.” He said holds would continue, however, for about 11 of the highest-ranking military officers, those who would be promoted to what he described as the four-star level or above.

There were 451 military officers affected by the holds as of Nov. 27. It’s a stance that has left key national security positions unfilled and military families with an uncertain path forward.……

Why still hold the highest level officers? Unless you really are trying to thwart the highest leadership until the election? I am hoping the Senate can do those one at a time. I saw an estimate it would take 2-3 days of solid voting to get through those. Maybe streamline the process?

Not if that idiot can help it.

i say as long as he holds up ANY promotions without letting them go the correct channels and process, the Dems should still pass their resolution.

Well, I am sure Eichmann would be pleased. The psychosis of these “patriots” needs to be fought with every last vestige of courage and strength.

Grand Theft Auto VI won't be released until 2025, much to the dismay of gamers intent on revisiting Vice City. But that hasn't stopped a handful of observers from attempting to astroturf a transphobic outrage over the gender identity of the main character, Lucia. It's a clumsy campaign to place yet another brand at the center of a culture war that has previously stoked scorn for the likes of Bud Light, Target, Hershey's, and Nike.

Because it's been a decade since GTA V, and studio Rockstar Games has sought to hone the subversive comedy of the franchise so that it doesn't "punch down" on marginalized groups, rumors have swirled that this latest installment will be "woke," or lacking in the casual sexism and racism of past games. (Rockstar last year reportedly removed transphobic content from the GTA V remaster.) Now, with the debut of an official trailer GTA VI, reactionaries are pushing that line further with unfounded speculation about the game's Latina protagonist, the first female lead in the series, being transgender.

This theory is based on nothing more than vibes: the trailer reveals nothing about Lucia other than that she has spent time in prison and robs convenience stores with a male accomplice when she's not behind bars. We don't even know who voices the character. But on a rancid platform like Elon Musk‘s X (formerly Twitter), engagement at any cost is the name of the game. Indeed, while some GTA fans were distraught at the idea of roleplaying as a trans woman, others - including right-wing podcaster Tim Pool - seemed to revel in the possible divisiveness of such a narrative choice.

Several of these posts, particularly the one from @DramaAlert - a brand of controversial YouTuber Daniel Keem, or "Keemstar" - have already come in for ridicule as obvious rage bait. Meanwhile, more than a few gamers, some transgender themselves, have voiced their enthusiasm at the prospect of a playable trans character in GTA (even while subtly acknowledging there is no evidence to confirm such news). These tweets also tended to mock "transvestigators," a term for openly transphobic people who become obsessed with proving that anyone and everyone is secretly transgender............

Yeah, she is clearly a Satanic priestess. Only a follower of Satan would feed the hungry, right?
