I did think about it both before and after I posted the comment.
Sure you did.
Are you somehow implying that Obama somehow didn’t “want” his policy proposals to pass? POTUS last I checked is a full time professional executive position under the Constitution. I assume that whatever proposals he puts forward he is doing so as part of his JOB as President.
This is where you fail. A President can make bill recommendations but it is up to The People to move forward with those recommendations and they do that through the Legislative Branch with their elected officials. POTUS does not draft Bills and their Executive Orders are limited to the Executive Branch which are subject to judicial review.

You are too willing to make a President a Monarch!
I also assumed, incorrectly, that you as an intelligent person wouldn’t need to have that explained to you.
No explanation from you is necessary. If I needed any lessons, I would rather seek them from a box of rocks.

I would like a system where government works and is less dysfunctional. I would prefer less partisan bickering and more compromise, not less. That is how our government is designed to work.

I don’t want a monarch from either party.

As I said, you should spend more time speaking to your beliefs and not those of others. You really suck at it. Truly. Perhaps then you wouldn’t look as dumb as that bag of rocks you reference.

:bigcry:
The only thing that addressed my post was the personal dig at me. Nothing from you about POTUS' legislative agenda, its limitations and nothing about Congress' role in representing The People while working towards constructing a Bill to accomplish POTUS' agenda. Just the personal attack. :9:

One side- the side you voted for- is actively trying to place as much power as possible into the hands of Trump. You don't want a monarch, yet you vote for the people making it happen right now, and when it's pointed out to you, all you can do is scream "BOTH SIDES!" at the top of your lungs.

Stop whining about personal attacks. Instead of conversing on the topic you started all this BS claiming I advocated for monarchy while fabricating and misrepresenting my point of view. I will treat you with the same respect as you treat me. All you have been doing is personal attacks.

As for the rest of your “points”. I understand how government works. The only point that I made before you went off the rails is that unless you have 60 votes in the Senate, you don’t totally control the Senate. It’s basic civics. It is a simple concept. A simple point. Take issue with it if you want.

I get you don’t want to hear anything that might require some accountability for governance from Democrats. But the current government is currently composed of two parties at roughly the same percentages. Republicans and Democrats. You gotta have both to make it work. So if it isn’t working it’s because those parties don’t or can’t work together. This is nothing new. It has been happening for years. Decades. And it is getting worse. I get that makes your head explode when that is pointed out to you.

It is to the point where more and more people prefer to call themselves independents rather than associate their name with either party. That is just the facts. Democrats swear up and down it’s the Republicans and Republicans swear up and down it’s the Democrats and neither party can admit that they collectively have a problem. The house could be on fire and they will still be arguing over who is in charge and who is to blame while it all burns down around them.

I am a conservative so I vote for conservatives. But I am not impressed by either party. If there was a viable conservative option that belonged to neither party I would gladly vote for them.

Wasn’t sure where to put this

Perhaps she could lead the way! It's not too late for her to change career paths, I'm certain that we all would be better served by not having her in her current job.

Exactly this! Thank you! One side (Republicans) wants to cede power to Trump and make it impossible to hold him accountable for anything, and the other side (Democrats) wants Republicans to stop. Both sides!

The conservatives are the ones enabling this. Maybe stop voting for people enabling what you claim to hate.

I would encourage you to do the same.

someone else simply being persecuted for their "christian beliefs"
=========================================

A former vice president at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts says he was fired by the organization following a CNN investigation into his previous comments on gay marriage.

Floyd Brown, who served as the center’s top fundraiser for only several weeks, wrote in a social media post this week he was fired after being contacted by a CNN reporter inquiring about his comments on his personal website and other platforms criticizing homosexuality and floating conspiracy theories about former President Obama.

“Comments rooted in my personal Christian views, which I have made in the past, have no impact upon my work here at the Kennedy Center nor do they impinge on my interactions with colleagues who do incredible work for the patrons of the Center,” Brown wrote in a statement he said he provided to CNN and included in his post on social platform X. “As a Christian I am called to work with others of different beliefs and worldviews.”

Brown said he asked for an explanation for his firing and to speak with Richard Grenell, a President Trump ally and the interim Kennedy Center president, but “both of those requests have been ignored.”

“My only conclusion is [Grenell] was intimidated by a CNN story … so he preemptively fired me for my Christian beliefs on marriage,” Brown said.

The CNN story laid out Brown’s history of attacking Republican leaders and activists for an “acceptance of the open promotion of the gay lifestyle inside the tent of conservatism” and comments calling gay marriage “a hoax” and “godless.”...........

FULL TEXT:

I was fired yesterday by @RichardGrenell from the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. One month ago, I was recruited to join the Kennedy Center as a Vice President. My firing came approximately two hours after @CNN sent an email asking me to comment on my past writings and statements about traditional marriage and homosexual influence in the @GOP. Here is the response I sent to @CNN:

“It is an honor to work at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and with the many amazing people who are employed here.Comments rooted in my personal Christian views, which I have made in the past, have no impact upon my work here at the Kennedy Center nor do they impinge on my interactions with colleagues who do incredible work for the patrons of the Center.

As a Christian I am called to work with others of different beliefs and worldviews.

I am honored to work for President of the Kennedy Center, Ambassador @RichardGrenell and Chairman of the Kennedy Center, President @realDonaldTrump.

I am united with them in their mission to bring wholesome entertainment showcasing the best of performing arts and music to America.

It was truly not my intention to offend anyone with my comments. I have never intended to attack or demean any person in my statements, and have always shared the mission of Jesus, striving to love others unconditionally.

The amazing beauty of the MAGA movement is we have people of many different beliefs inside our tent. We are all working together in unity to Make America Great Again.”

I would encourage you to do the same.

I do, thanks. See, you and I say we don't like authoritarians. The side I vote for is trying to stop the slide into authoritarianism. The side you vote for supports that slide. Your actions and your words don't match.

Yeah. We disagree. I don’t know anyone I have voted for that is for authoritarianism. I get that’s the talking point.
